It really pains me that I missed this leak that just happened. We know OpenAI is still working on an advanced version of their AI model called O1 Model. But recently, the version was accidentally made accessible to some people and the people that saw it, experienced a little glimpse of the power of their newer version
At that moment, anyone could try it out and it worked very well. Unfortunately I heard this news a little too late and when I went to check, I wasn't seeing the o1 model. Of course this was not supposed to happen at all but sometimes mistakes like this can happen. It was a two hour window and those that got the chance to use it were very impressed so that means we should expect a better OpenAI model in the near future, probably somewhere in the first 4 months of 2025.
The o1 version is much better at analyzing images better than the previous one and it can tackle more complex problems which previous models would have told you it doesn't know or hasn't been trained with the data. It was even processing huge files with so much ease and speed.
So it's clear they've built something better than what they already had so my question is why haven't they released o1 yet? It's either they're fixing bugs, vulnerabilities or they want something even more impressive. With about 6.6 billion dollars invested into OpenAI, I will not expect anything less than impressive. I'm desperately awaiting launch day of o1.
