Elon Musk's Starlink network is making some good progress, it's not everywhere yet but I'm pretty sure that one of these days it'll be the number one in the world, knowing how ambitious Elon is.
Do you know that Qatar Airways is now having Starlink WiFi on some of its flights?
Yes it started with a Boeing 777 which was flying from Doha all the way to London. For real guys, the internet is very fast. It can get speeds of up to 215 Mbps. That's faster than most home connections and even those in companies. Unfortunately the network I use right now is a bit more affordable that's why I'm not on StarLink but when I get my money together I'm moving to it.
I think the best part about Elon's Starlink for Qatar Airways is it's free for all passengers, no matter where they sit.
A regular WiFi on the plane will usually cost you about $10 and is much slower than the StarLink. Because the Internet is faster, people that fly these airways can make video calls, watch videos and even play online games without buffering or the usual bad network issues.
Not too long ago, Elon Musk joined a video call during a test flight to show how well the system works. Qatar Airways has plans of adding Starlink to more of their planes and it'll include all of the 777s and Airbus A350s hopefully by next year.
There's rumors that other airlines like United and Air France are also planning to install Starlink. This new WiFi service will definitely make flying more enjoyable and productive. So you know Elon musk really plans on dominating the service provider industry.
