It’s highly important to take care of yourself. You gotta do stuff that gives you a good feeling inside and out.
I learnt that things such as positive self-talk could make a difference. It is like being nice to oneself by talking.
Every morning, I make it my first job to begin the day with affirmations which are positive. For instance, “I am proud” or “I am confident.”
This may sound ridiculous but it helps me feel better about myself. It’s like planting seeds of positivity in my head that over time grow into beautiful things.
At first, I was doubtful when I started this thing. In other words, how could just saying nice things to myself bring any change? But gradually as I kept on doing it, something happened.
Suddenly, I felt more capable and confident in my abilities. My mind seemed to believe what it was told.
A pep talk is done by yourself daily through positive self-talk. It’s like having the ones you support encouraging your actions everyday. And everyone requires it sometimes.
Our minds are not powerless; this I have learned. Our feelings and actions can be significantly influenced by what we think and say to ourselves. So, why don’t we remember only good things instead of bad?
However, at times, it becomes challenging. There are certain days when I do not feel particularly well about myself and saying positive affirmations appears as a task to complete.
However, I still manage to move on with life on such days. This is because I understand that even the smallest amount of positivity will count for something
One other point I noticed is that positive self-talk does more than just feel good at the moment: it also helps me deal better with challenges.
When I face difficulties or set-backs, instead of blaming myself, I am calling my mind to recall my strong points and skills. It’s like a shield against negativity.
In my view, every person could benefit from practicing positive self-talk.
This is one thing that anyone can do—it’s simple but powerful. Besides it doesn’t have a monetary value attached to it. Rather, only some minutes are enough for you to say words of affirmation to yourself daily.
