Why Patience Is the Key to Justice

Justice, I believe, should be served with a lot of patience. You may have heard the saying "Justice is best served cold." To me, this means that justice needs time to be properly done. If you rush it, it’s like serving water instead of delicious and satisfying dish.

It is like trying to cook a meal too fast if you rush into the service of justice. You might burn it or it might not taste right. The same goes for justice. If you do not take your time, you could make mistakes. Mistakes can have serious consequences when it comes to something as important as justice.

Let’s take an example of court case. If the judge and jury don’t take their time to carefully consider all the evidence then they may make a wrong verdict. An innocent person can be found guilty while a guilty one may go free. In any way, it is unfair.

I hold the opinion that justice should be fair above all other things. It is only fair to take your time. You have to study all the facts and evidence, and then think hard before you make a choice. That is why we need patience in matters of justice.

However, this virtue of patience does not apply only to the dispensers of justice; those who are in search of it are expected to practice it too. If you have been hurt, you might want justice as soon as possible because it is natural. However, sometimes one has to wait so that they can give room for legal system to work through them and for it also takes time.

Waiting for justice can be frustrating but I think it is worth it in the long run. It assures closure if done rightly. It provides peace of mind as well as brings about a feeling of fairness across the globe.

Thus, whenever you find yourself waiting for justice; remember patience pays. That may take a long time but finally it will all be over and done with. This is because cold justice tastes better than hot one.
