Finding Your Writing Passion and Purpose

Writing for me has always been more than just putting words on paper. It is a journey of self-discovery, an outlet through which to convey thoughts and feeling, and finally a way of connecting with others. I feel like am on a mission when I write and there’s something I need to fulfill.

To some people however, all writing amounts to is mere duty or task. But not for me, it is my vocation. It delves into the deepest recesses of the mind and heart so as to expose stories that are yet to be told. Whenever I put down any word, it resembles part of my being – it talks about what I have experienced in life as well as my belief.

Writing grounds me in a world full of distractions and noise. Through writing, one can go once again into the realms of imagination where everything is possible. Be it telling a captivating story or disclosing innermost feelings through writing; this act provides tranquility for me.

However, it was not always easy for me to find my passion for writing. There were moments when I would entertain self-doubt or be whispered that nobody will ever listen to what I have to say because my words are not good enough. Nevertheless, persistence and determination led me to understand that writing is about sincerity rather than perfection.

I write in such a way that every word counts. It’s all about making a change however small it may be. This can either be in the form of motivating someone to pursue their passions or consoling people in distress; writing has the potential to influence people’s lives tremendously.

Writing also means continuous development. In every piece of work, there is a new thing about myself and my surroundings that I get to know each day. It is an advancement process where each term becomes a step closer towards ameliorating one’s self-consciousness.

In the world of today, where everything moves so fast, we often forget what is important. Writing always brings me back to reality and encourages me to take things slowly and appreciate more the little details in life. It tells us that even amid all this mess, writing still has enchantment.

Basically, writing is my mainstay, my delight and my lasting memory. A talent that I treasure and a duty that I perform with affection. Moreover as I move forward, I am thankful for being able to get my voice heard out there into the big wide world one word at a time.
