Failing is part of the process

in Cent5 months ago

Failure in my experience does not imply lack of success; it is a necessary prerequisite for one to achieve success. Many people perceive failure as negative but I recognize it as an integral stage towards success.

As I look back at my life, there were moments when I felt shattered by failures. Failure was always a source of terror to me since it implied that I wasn’t competent enough. However, now that I have become matured enough, I comprehend very well that failure is part and parcel of life. How we deal with this determines whether our journey ahead will lead us to success or not.

The most enlightening thing about failure is learning how to be resilient. In the face of failure, discouragement may set in with the temptation of giving up on everything. Nevertheless, persistence can make us stronger and more enduring after a failure has struck us.

In addition, failure is a great opportunity to learn from our mistakes which we wouldn’t have come across otherwise. When we fail, it helps us to reflect on what happened and how to do better in future. For personal growth and development, this feedback is vital.

I recall one particular incidence during my school days when I failed a mathematics examination. But rather than giving up, I chose to consult my teacher for assistance. She took me through the errors humbly and demonstrated where I could make changes for the better. Using this information as a basis of reference, I went into the next exam with more confidence and preparation resulting into a comparatively better grade being achieved at last.

In addition, failure enables us to build a mindset of growth. Rather than viewing our talents as static, we start to see them as capabilities that can be honed through the years. This mentality gives us confidence to tackle new problems and push beyond our comfort zones.

I have failed many times in my personal life. However, every time I fail, I learn something new about myself and my surroundings. I have also become more resilient, dedicated and self-assured over the past years.
