In this post I'll talk about the Gravebrand Warlock card in Splinterlands; it's one of the cards from the new Reward Set that I'm eyeing for my collection.
In my posts I like to talk about Arcade Colony, so I'll talk a little about this gaming platform before continuing to talk about Splinterlands.
Arcade Colony

Arcade Colony is a web-based platform where mainstream games can deploy Web3 features. Newly created games, as well as previously released games, can now add tokens, digital collectibles, trading, renting, earning, and governance to their games. Thus, Arcade Colony hosts a series of published games similar to the Epic Games Store, Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Steam, but unlike Web2 publishers, Arcade Colony augments new and existing games with Web3 features.
For more information about the platform, read the Whitepapper.
There are 4 games in Arcade Colony and they are:

Let's continue talking about the Gravebrand Warlock card in Splinterlands.

What catches my attention about the Gravebrand Warlock card is the Soul Siphon ability, but first I'll talk about the card's other abilities and stats.
Gravebrand Warlock is a rare card in the death deck; its mana cost is a bit high, but it's the kind of battle you'll want in your battle.
Let's learn about the Gravebrand Warlock card abilities.
Swiftness

+1 speed to all allied units.
Execute

If the target has 2 or less health after a successful attack, perform another attack against the same unit.
Soul Siphon

As long as there is a non-Weary allied unit, it resurrects itself with 100% armor and 50% of its maximum health, rounded down. All magic debuffs are removed, and all magic buffs are reapplied. It inflicts Weary on the non-Weary allied unit with the highest health and reduces their health by 50%, rounded up.
This ability is risky, and for it to work well, you need to eliminate the opponent's monsters as quickly as possible.
Let's take a look at the Gravebrand Warlock card on the battlefield.

BATTLE
I'll use this battle as an example because, in my opinion, using the Gravebrand Warlock card is a good idea since there's the Wands Out rule in the battle and I'm using the summoner Owster Rotwell.
Why was using the Gravebrand Warlock card a good idea?
As I mentioned before, I used the summoner Owster Rotwell in this battle, and its function is to grant the Magic Reflect ability to my monsters. Therefore, the Soul Siphon ability is useful since the Gravebrand Warlock card will keep resurrecting and, while receiving damage, will also deal damage to the opponent's monsters.
In the battle I'll show a little about how the strategy works, but basically the Gravebrand Warlock's function is to take damage and deal as much damage as possible with its magic attack and Magic Reflect. However, there's a disadvantage: my other monsters will receive debuffs, and for this reason it's necessary to defeat my opponent's monsters as quickly as possible because the Soul Siphon ability is very risky.
I'm still testing the Gravebrand Warlock card in various battles to find the best strategy for it, but what I can say is that it's an interesting and fun card to have in battles.
It will take a while to level up Gravebrand Warlock to the maximum level, but I'll manage it before a new Reward Set is released.
