Hello everyone,
After covering 3 playstyles of nature and war gods, in this post I will be covering 3 playstyles related to Auros the god of war!
War god is one of the most used gods in the game at the moment for several reasons:
- The ability to compete in high ranks with low cost war decks and by low cost I mean lower than your average expensive decks.
- The variety and fast playstyle decks which are taking into the meta nowadays especially since finishing the game faster means an opportunity to play even more games which is great for week matches!
This post will contain 2 cheap playstyles that one of them can compete in ranks if mastered and polished well, and a 3rd expensive but very fun to play playstyle which is highly used in high ranks.
So without further ado, lets jump into the first playstyle:
First Playstyle:
Frenzied Aggro:
One of the most used playstyle for war, frenzied aggro proved himself to be a highly competitive playstyle without the need to spend thousands of dollars on your deck!
This playstyle is focused on using your blitz and frenzied creatures to clear the board as fast as possible and go as aggressive as possible with hitting your opponent's god.
With all the frenzy and blitz that you have, you should not give your opponent an opportunity to stack creatures on board, and you should end the game as fast as you can by dominating the board early game!
Example Deck:
This deck still have a lot of room for improvement and there are millions of better versions of it which I will be testing on of them for 25 games after settling on one, but with a little bit of tweaking this playstyle can help you play in mythic without having to spend a lot of money on it!
Important Cards:
Blade of Styx, Tavern Brawler, Vanguard Axewoman and Archangel Bruiser.
The Blade of Styx is excellent for clearing without sacrificing your creatures which is excellent since our purpose is to have as much damage as possible on board.
And of course the other 3 cards are the classic, blitzed cards which are so important for such type of decks.
Gameplay of this playstyle:
Second Playstyle:
Relic Zoo Playstyle:
This playstyle is the most basic, cheap playstyle among all 3. However, it is still a fun playstyle and one that can help you get wins in solar gold.
This playstyle is all about using your relics as a huge support for your creatures whether its giving them shields or clearing board, and then strengthening your creatures and getting them on board to finish off the game.
With such type of playstyle usually the game should last long or it might cause a bit of problems especially if you reach late game in an equal situation.
If late game have to be reached try at least to be ahead with damage on board to have a slight advantage.
Example Deck:
Important Cards:
Blade of Styx, Tavern Brawler and Tartessian Improviser:
Blade of Styx for being excellent, mana efficient for clearing board without sacrifices thus more face damage for opponent.
Tavern Brawler is a very good early game card with the blitz.
And the Tartessian Improviser for giving you troops especially blitzed one if lucky the extra strength for only 1 mana which is so good plus having an extra 2/1 creature on board!
Gameplay of this playstyle:
Third Playstyle:
War control Playstyle:
The third and final playstyle is war control!
This one is the most interesting for me out of all 3, however the most expensive one. It is expensive for the reason that you have to have specific cards for it to work.
However it is so rewarding in high ranks and highly used.
War control is about surviving the early game as much as possible without allowing the enemy to swarm the board with creatures, and then dominating the late game with the strong creatures and spells you have.
Having strong creatures with the combination of sleep, blitz, twin strikes along with strong clear spells makes it one of the best late game decks ever.
Example Deck:
Important Cards:
Demogorgon, Hector Prince of Troy, Grand Hall and Sole Survivor:
Demogorgon: An excellent late game card of leech and sleep to have a 1 round damage advantage.
Hector, Prince of Troy: A great a late game finisher.
Grand Hall: Having frontline and the ability to give leech, this card is excellent for helping surviving to late game or getting back some extra HP in case you lost more than you should have.
Sole Survivor: An excellent spell for board clearing and strengthening your creatures which is exactly needed in case things got out of hand
Which is what make the deck so expensive because without those cards the decks can work effectively!
Gameplay of the deck:
Small tips against each god when using war:
Against Magic, Deception and Death:
You do not want to go crazy with creatures because of the variety of spells and tricks they have and the lack of creatures.
Against Light, Nature and War:
You want to try as much as possible to keep the opponent board clean and not make him swarm a lot because these gods are knowns for buffing, and finishing the games fast by having a lot of creatures.
Conclusion:
War decks are one of the most budget friendly decks to have if your goal is to reach mythic.
There are a lot of playstyle and different versions of each to help you get there and does not need a lot of money.
However, the key is to master the playstyle you want to play which is the main goal behind this post because even if the driver have the best car and he can not drive it, it wont be as fast and win him races!
Keep in mind that all decks can be rotated and improved according to what you see best so keep trying, keep polishing them and I hope I can help any player understand or learn something new about the game.
That was it for this post and I wish everyone a great weekend rank.
I am going to be trying one of the nature playstyles in this weekend rank and posting my results about it so stay tuned!
Credits and huge thanks for @nackarub for piloting and providing us with the war control deck which he highly use in high ranks!
Mad love, Peace out <3
I really enjoy playing with the God of War, but I have only used the aggro deck, I will test these 2 options that you presented to us.... I need to see exactly which cards I have.
Go for it! The Zoo Relic deck was not tested in many matches yet though it is just like a template to get an idea so make sure to keep polishing it and as long as you get the idea of how to use you will do great!
