Aggro Light: Unkillable board!

in Gods On Chainlast year (edited)

Hello everyone,

So lately in the game, and with the released of the new expansion, things have been going decent of me with playing the Zombie deck as well as some card draw with it. I have been getting around 55% win rate and swinging between Ethereal Diamond and Mythic.

However, this time I wanted to go for a little bit faster tempo deck. So I was thinking what aggro decks are decent nowadays. War, with the removal of Slayer god power became a lot weaker now. Aggro deception is really good but needs some specific cards like Shadow of Lethenon that I do not have. So I was left with aggro light!

Aggro light has been out there for quite a while now with many nerfs and buff and reworks that came along! And it is quite safe to say that it is still good right now! So I will be sharing with you the deck that I was using and talking about it in details!

The Deck

 " "deck.png""

The deck is very cheap and effective as well! It has a 70.4% win rate between mythic and Diamond in 27 matches which is not very bad! I kept Blade of whiteplain and Pyramid warden out of it because I wanted to keep it as cheap as possible for everyone! But of course if you have these cards do not hesitate to add them!

Strength of this deck

The strong point of this deck is that it is almost impossible to clear the board if you got good tempo, and the more your opponent clears, the more you build back. And that is mainly due to the strong spells you have, as well as some creatures that are already protected or warded.

So main purpose here is to try and get a strong wide board, you can do that either slowly, or if its against a heavy clear matchup like magic, you can do combos in 1 turn and then build up from there. Some combos for example are these:

Combo 1

 " "combo 1.png""

For 4 mana for example, you can throw this combo in 1 turn, with whatever 1 mana card that you have actually, you'll have 2 or 3 creatures with very high HP that can help you start controlling board and building tempo from here! With a lot of snowballing and buffing cards in your deck these should be the kick start to taking over!

Combo 2

 " "combo 2.png""

This works well especially if you have another creature on board from before, you'll basically be getting 2 HP buff for every Humble benefactor because Argus will be taking the buff too! Argus works really well too with any other HP spell and is best used when you already have creatures on board!

These combos work best against slow tempo decks to help establish good board control whereas against faster tempo decks, you need to try and control the board since the beginning!

Deck weakness

Obviously this deck does not have any card draw except for sern which you will not always be able to use, which means if you lost tempo and board control from the beginning, it is really difficult to come back from it so is the case with most aggro decks but especially light! So the main focus is to try and not fall behind early on especially against aggro matchups! Here are the keycards for doing so!

Keycards to establish board control

If you are going second, here are the key cards that helps get control ofnthe board:

 " "trio.png""

These are all reactive cards, which is what you need most when going second especially against aggro matchups.

Mace of calling and Thaeric Extortionist: These both helps eally well in clearing creatures for your opponent without sacrificng anything of yours, thus helping you establish board control!

Inquisitor Informant: The order on this creature is really useful. It basically nullifies one of your opponent creatures for a while while adding a 2/3 for you on board. With the time its buys for you, you can use some spells on your creatures and thus making many creatures stronger which allows you to take control after that!

Now if you are going first, here are the cards you might need ton have in hand to establish good control:

These cards are good to have in hand if you were going first

Empyrean Pacifist: Really good early on, the snowballing effect and constant increase of HP makes her a really good option to go first. Can be used to clear board without the need to sacrifice as well as get some early damage and favor.

Vexing Vicar: The ward and protected mmakes him annoying to clear for many matchups, which allows you to buff him on later on too and snowball from here

Felid Janissary and Humble benefactor: The buffs they provide for the early game can be useful either for clearing without sacrificing or just to go wide and use a certain buffing spell after!

Viable Addition options

Here are some cards that you can add too to this deck and they work really well with it:

Call of Light

 "call.png"

That is a good card to have with this deck, goes really well with Holy Writ since you can get 2 or 3 Acolytes to 5 HP just in 1 turn for 4 or 5 mana which is really good! A combo used so many times against me when I was playing card draw and it just lost me the game!

Kadmos

 "kadmos.png"

Both Kadmos (which are basically one person haha) are viable options. They work better in Olympian Light decks, but there are still viable additions here and serves different purposes if you have them and would like to add them!

Gameplay

Here is a game I played with this deck in Ethereal Diamond against magic:

Here is the deck code:

Final Thoughts

This deck is really good and almost impossible to come back against it once you have the tempo going on! The insane amount of HP, protected, strength buffs is insane but of course just like any deck is has its weaknesses. Losing tempo early on can basically means you already lost.

Another advantage of this deck is that it is really fast paced, and fun at the same time so if you are looking for that you can go ahead and try or basically any light deck out there! I just try to deliver the best I play and use to give you the wins you want!

That was it for this one, I hope you like it be sure to go ahead and give this deck a try and let me know in the comments how did it go with you! Take care everyone and always be grateful for what you have!

Mad Love, Peace out <3

Hi, great finish with "Asterius", "Protective Benediction" is great, nice game.👍👍👍

thank you brother

War, with the removal of Slayer god power became a lot weaker now.

I agree. They started by nerfing Carnage Sweep and then did it again by removing Slayer.

true although both targets different archetypes one is for control and the other is for aggro!
