Mill Deception... Happy to be an early adopter, happy to test decks, happy to forge new shinies... Am I in love? Perhaps yes. ๐
The only complaint is that games are longer than with Guild Deception.
That's what I have at the moment:
Deck code: GU_1_2_IAnIAnBFXBFXGCKGCKCCWCCWBBJBBJBEbBEbCEQCEQIAkIAkMBhMBhNCbNCbCCgCCgGBEGBECCNCCNNBmNBmHBaHBa
God Power: flip
Deck's stats:
A winning streak in Auric and I am again in Solar and keep winning.
Resurgent Sirens and Cobra Scepter
That's the main scenario, if you don't know. Many people don't know what Mill Deception is and how to play against it; and that's an advantage. Meanwhile, you can find this description on Mill Deception page on gudecks:
Some people play the archetype, not only me, and that's cool. ๐
All ranks, last 3 days, 517 games
Finishing aggro War
Winning 200$ Midrange Light from Ethereal Diamond
Last moments of 125$ Control Nature with 2 Winter's Bounty and That Which Feeds Us
Sleepwalker
My first reaction about Sleepwalker was: it is a bad replacement for Exorcise / Elixir of the Panther. And then I realized: Sleepwalker isn't a replacement but addition to these spells.
If you are playing against aggro, it maybe has sense to muligan Sleepwalker. It's often you can put all the opponent's board in sleep next turn with another Sleepwalker or Exorcise / Elixir. That's a lot of extra damage as an addition to Cobra Scepter + Resurgent Sirens scenario. If you are lucky, you can even win this way without Resurgent Sirens.
Cutthroat Insight + Ludia's Deception
Cobra Scepter is a key card. Meanwhile, you draw cards for your opponent and, sooner or later, he or she gets a relic remover. To avoid this as long as possible, you should clean their hand when you can. For example, after they draw 2 or more cards. Aggro Light often has 2 relic removers early... So you should really know archetypes to avoid relic removers.
Another good way to avoid them - regularly overfill the oppponent's hand - there are many ways to do so. But keep in mind, Cobra Scepter doesn't make damage when the opponent loses the card due to full hand. ๐
Tried to Play Without Them but No
Spellbound allows to safely play non-put-in-sleep cards. If your opponent has many creatures, you choose to put in sleep the strongest of them for only 1 mana and then do sometimes else: summon Resurgent Sirens or cast Surprise Delivery.
Walk the Plank allows to remove frontline, return an enemy creature to full hand, and return Resurgent Sirens for re-use. Nightcap costs only 1 mana but doesn't work if the opponent's deck is empty + the card is less versatile than Walk the Plank.
Manasurge 6 is usual for this deck (many 1 and 5 mana cards). If achieved, Walk the Plank is just insane: return 2 creatures for 3 mana (choose the subsequence to send the best creature into the full hand) + play anything else: like, sleep or card draw.
Nobody plays Walk the Plank if you check Mill Deception on gudecks. That makes me feel cool ๐
Stack the Deck looks like too mana-expensive card. You can say you skip a turn to cast this spell but it is worth it: card draw 3 is great and potential 3 damage (with Cobra Scepter and space in your opponent's hand) is decent. But the strongest way to use it: overfill the opponent's hand. If you first play Hypnos Puzzle Box to full the opponent's hand, your opponent loses 4 cards: 3 ones after you spell Stack the Deck and 1 more after he or she starts the turn.
Shinies ๐
Since not many people play the archetype, the cards are as cheap as before Drean Awakening. Besides, I had had many Cobra Scepter and, of course, Made Mark.
I calculated these shiny cards add around +6% to my Daily rewards compared to 100% meteorite deck. That's extra 6-8 GODS a month. So... They will pay off one day in 3-4 months or so. Sounds not that much convincing from the point of profitability but... I love having these shinies. ๐
