I'm Iceflare and I've been playing Gods Unchained since the beginning of the year. I'm currently consistently competing at top 50 in the world.
This was my rank yesterday!
I'm a gamer at heart, and I have played games in every genre. I have played everything from MMORPG(Guildwars, WoW), MOBA (HoN, Dota, LoL), turn-based games (Heroes of Might and magic, Hearthstone, Auto Chess, Underlords), and shooters. I have played it all. I have a master's degree in finance, and currently, work as a big data analyst for a media company. In 2017 I was working as a portfolio manager for a cryptocurrency hedge fund and was devouring everything in the crypto space. This is how I stumbled over God's Unchained.
I signed up for their beta Mon 11/26/2018 at 2:31 PM according to my Gmail, but I didn't buy any of the promotional (which I VERY much regret now), and I didn't purchase the genesis card packs, which I also regret a lot.
I think I started playing Gods Unchained earlier this year because of a random email I received from the Gods Unchained team. I figured I'll give the game a real shot, and downloaded the client, hooked up the wallet, and started playing.
The game surprised me so much, I got REALLY hooked from the first day I played. The game was actually good. It feels like Hearthstone, with an added layer of complexity with the Sanctum and card interactions.
I found the TST discord server and got help to build some good F2P-decks and I reached mythic in my first week and got 20 wins in the next weekend ranked tournament. The fact that you can compete at the top in a P2E game with a F2P-deck is amazing.

Welcome maybe due to your expertise it would help for you to run through some of your favorite deck or deck types in each god and perhaps highlight the main combos within the deck or what made you choose it.
Also just guessing the average viewer may not be as vested if there are cheaper alternatives to certain key cards that are more affordable to newer players.

How do I get more HP? Is that through staking HIVE, or what? I ran out when I followed a bunch of GU players here.
Post rewards from posts and comments bring you 50% hive backed dollars (HBD) and 50% HP (hivepower). You need to have some Hive power to use the chain since transactions are feeless, if u have 0 you'll run out quick (like 3 comments/posts per week). It's not an issue after like 30-50 HP, no one would need more than that for their social activities so most people will get to that eventually.
Another great thing for hive's scalability is that soon we will be able to just delegate Resource credits instead of Hivepower to get RC. Meaning it won't cost them any returns (since you get curation rewards from your hive power).

But yeah, you stake Hive into Hivepower, it takes 3 months to get it all back into Hive in weekly installments.
