24 Wins (24-1) | Weekend Rank #132 (25 Feb 2022) | Gods Unchained

Another Weekend Rank, another record: the 24 wins 🤩! Not only that was an amazing personal achievement, I also made top 10 two weeks in a row 😎. Last time I did this well was nearly a year ago and the Meta wasn't this competitive and crowded (but that's a good thing 😄).

Well, I say 24 wins because gudecks.com was showing that the [accidental] game I had started before but finished after the official start time did count as a win.
Curiously, gustats.eu didn't count the 1st game and I do prefer to use it to track the games as it refreshes quicker than gudecks at times; so check your results on gustats.eu instead 😅.

Annoyingly, it's not like I chose to lose my 26th game. I was aware that perhaps my 1st game didn't count but unfortunately I lost against Nature off-stream on the following day 😑.

Regardless, I ended up in #7 😎. A shout out to my amazing team mate ClementDaniele (aka Clecle06) for #5!

Yes, everyone's favourite deck to hate (aka P2W deck 🤦‍♂): Board Wipe Death (BWD). And like previous week War Deck, this one is also my one approach / take on the usual BWD decks that use End Times + Hippacria's Monster and / or Polyhymnia, Aetheric Hydra.

In summary, my general bad luck with drawing late game cards too early makes me want to avoid too many 7-mana and no 8 or 9-mana card decks. So I decided to abuse of The Portable Fortress with Neferu's Khopesh where possible as, since the "Just a Nibble" heal 5 instead of 7 nerf, you can heal 8 out of Fleshbind, and the frontline helps to slow down your opponent by absorbing damage and reducing the amount of favor they can get from early aggression - a nice addition to the broken Siren of the Grave.

The games most often go to fatigue so that's where Jason, Medea's Muse and That Which Aches comes in.

As of the time of writing, I'm currently 12-2 with a similar BWD deck so I don't have big hopes for a similar result this week - about to stream the 2nd part so make sure to come and watch 😉.

Unfortunately I will be absent for all of next week but I still hope to be able to play the next Weekend Rank at same point, so no streaming between the 8 and 11 March.

👉Finally, a lot is about to change in the next 1-2 days as the eagerly anticipated Core Set Refresh is bound to happen so the Meta as you know is about to change 😮!
