Cliff Dweller Series - Week 5

in Gods On Chain2 years ago

Didn't quite make it back to Mythic this week, kind of just hanging off the side of the cliff, clinging on for dear life, but we did have a good showing in Diamond with 11 wins. It was the last Weekend Ranked that we will be rewarded with Gods as we shift to daily play and earn on Wednesday. I have my meteorite Heirloom deck ready to go...it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

The Deck

I replaced the underwhelming Hope Lost with Eva, Baroness of the Dead to try and deal with some of the hidden Deception cards and other aggro cards that either have protected or lots of health which Heirloom struggles to deal with.

Statistics

Not sure what has happened, but in the last two Weekend Ranked events we have gone first over 66% of the time. Unheard of. Results were slightly above expectations with us failing to win against Zombies but putting in a good showing in almost every other matchup. In fact we had a perfect start with 6 wins in a row before we slumped to 8/14. Using the mulligans to try and get Eva, Baroness of the Dead in hand really helped against aggro, and even made it fairly interesting playing the sometimes bland Heirloom archetype. In particular it caused havoc for all variants of Deception, Nature as well as Viking War, and really seemed to mess with their mojo.

Rewards

We pulled a Zaxiom this week off our level 200 pack, and a second one off a rare pack, something which should have extremely low odds of occurring. A little disappointed because we now have three copies of it, and I would really like some of the more useful Legendaries (Ekrileth, I'm looking at you). Other than that we got some decent shine in our reward pax but nothing amazing.

Looking Forward

As I mentioned in the beginning I have my meteorite Heirloom deck ready to go in preparation for daily play and earn. My prediction is that due to the limited time I have during the week, this probably won't work out well for me in terms of Gods. This series will however continue onwards, in the hope of obtaining some of those sweet reward pax!

I was expecting a Heirloom nerf any day but it seems to have been pushed out as they work on other patches. I am definitely not going to complain. In the meantime, I am still collecting all those Amazons which are out of favour (and on therefore a bit cheaper), but have the potential to be devastating if the get one or two key buffs.

That once again wraps it up for this week, I look forward to running into you out there on the cliff face!
