What an amazing turn out to our first side-contest in the GU community, over 70 introduction posts in a span of a week. Great to see how well the community got kickstarted and how smooth it is running right now with more new users joining daily and becoming active.

A big thank you to @strawhat and @hivegc for sponsoring this contest with 100 HBD. Please make sure to check out the Hive Gaming Community where anything gaming goes as long as it's original content! Peakd link, Hive.blog link to the community and a link to their Discord if you have any questions or just want to connect with the community.

With the post rewards of the contest post we managed to collect 260 HBD which will be divided between the 5 top intro posts we decided upon. Keep in mind this decision was not made for the post quality and effort alone but there were other factors involved as well such as how active certain users were and how well the post did on its own so we could spread the rewards out a bit more.

Without further ado, here are the results:

#1 @entrepidus : Introducing Entrepidus, Maker of Lists
#2 @vaipraonde : Introduction ... GODadam + My Last Opening Pack
#3 @fakemews : FakeMews Introduction
#4 @bernardinetti : GODS UNCHAINED - Introduction @BERNARDINETTI
#5 @cagalli : Introduction - Cagalli
#6 @squirrelacus : Introduction to Squirrelacus
#7 @occultis : Introduction: Myself and the Educational project for GU community
#8 @trippymane : Introduction to Gods Unchained (Hive) by @trippymane

Note: this really wasn't easy with all 8 spots being difficult to decide but we do hope you all had fun and enjoyed the curation on the posts as well.

The rewards:

#1 @entrepidus : 1x Polyhymnia, Aetheric Hydra + 50 HBD + 48 HBD
#2 @vaipraonde : 30 HBD + 32 HBD
#3 @fakemews : 20 HBD + 16 HBD
#4 @bernardinetti : 24 HBD
#5 @cagalli : 16 HBD
#6 @squirrelacus : 8 HBD
#7 @occultis : 8 HBD
#8 @trippymane : 8 HBD

Congratulations to the winners, rewards are already sent out!

@entrepidus please comment your IMX ETH address for the card or send me a DM if you don't want it public!

Curator +/ Moderator +/Onboarder Gods On Chain Role

Now as I've already mentioned a few times here and there, I'm looking for a few curators and moderators for the Gods On Chain community. I'll also be looking for some onboarders who are interested in bringing more players to Hive and I'll go through each role's responsibilities and tasks so you can decide what you want to apply for but since it won't be that many slots I have to mention that I'd rather invite those who can do both curation and moderation instead of only moderation.

Curation

For this role you have to get familiar with anti-plagiarism tools and other anti-abuse activity which we have the tools in our Discord server that we can guide you through. On Hive we value originality and the fact that anyone here can monetize content with a click of a button it's important that identity thefts, content thefts, etc, don't get rewarded. As a curator you'll be looking out for all of these things and judge content based on quality, effort and social activity of the users and some other factors before you nominate them for our votes in the Discord. It's not as strict and much as it sounds, we have over 60 community curators in our community incubation and most get it right the first few weeks.

Moderation

For moderation as mentioned we'd prefer curators to also pick up this job, since you're already out there picking up posts and looking through the community you should also be able to check for general rules and guidelines that may be broken. These are of course yet to be written in the community sidebar, but I'm sure you know the general rules that may apply such as hate, discrimination, etc, all those things no one really wants in a community. Moderators will be able to choose to mute specific posts as a warning but can also mute authors if they continue to ignore the warnings which means no one will be able to see their posts and comments in the community. (They'll still be on the blockchain of course but not many use Hive without the front-ends.)

For curation and moderation we do daily/weekly (depends on the communities activity) compilation posts where we highlight the best posts of that day (chosen by the curators) and with those posts we can reward curators and moderators a little extra for their work and effort put into the community. You can see what this looks like in the @ocd and @lovesniper daily posts.

Onboarding

This one will be a bit harder to get into as it will require a layer of trust. The perks of being an onboarding in OCD are great but that's why we also have to keep it strict. As an onboarder you'll be able to generate your own invite links for free Hive accounts provided by us and then you'll be able to nominate your onboarded users for curation while also being able to nominate your own posts for curation in limited capacity. This is to incentivize bringing new people to Hive and them having a good start to their Hive journey so they can find out what they've been missing out on by not being here.

The rewards for onboarders are a bit higher as each invite link automatically generates beneficiaries going your way from the posts of the onboarded users (not mandatory, can be removed by the users at any time), if they don't remove them it can stack to decent sized rewards the more active and decent content creators you invite and curate. We also do compilation posts of the onboarded users similar to community curation+moderation where onboarders receive 1 time rewards for new onboarded users. Along with being able to nominate their own posts a few times per week (curation there also depends on quality+effort and how much rewards the posts may have already made).

We're looking forward to see the amount of applicants from the GU community who are interested in joining the OCD team. :)

Please apply in this post with at least these couple points filled out.

#1 Do you have any past experience in curation &/ moderation?
#2 How many hours per day would you say you have to spend on curation &/ moderation?

Rest will depend on your past activity or other previous history outside of Hive which is lot more strict for onboarders, but feel free to apply for that position here as well.

Sharing part of the post rewards with @hivegc.

Sort:

So I would like to toss my hat in the ring for the curator position.

  1. I do not have any curation experience but I do have moderation experience. That is if you could being an officer in a raiding World of Warcraft guild moderation. We planned raids and events. Made sure we geared new people up and set them up with groups to get their weekly tasks done.
  2. As far as time I have to spend doing curation I would say a solid 3 hours a day. Sometimes more.
I just want to say thank you for the contests you have been running and the fact you are brining in more curators to grow this community. I know it has to be a tremendous amount of work but you are doing a fantastic job.

Haha! As I was typing out my guild management experience, I was wondering who else in here was cut from the same cloth.. I only had to scroll one comment to find you. Alliance or Horde?

Horde, always Horde. Various servers But always pretty high up as a guild for raiding progression. And super competitive in Mythic + I stopped playing in shadowlands I just got tired of the RNG on RNG with a little side of RNG

First off, wow, I really wasn't expecting that! @.@

Huge thanks for creating such a welcoming environment for Gods Unchained, in general. I've never had so much fun interacting with a gaming community so soon after joining. Major success on that front!

Second, I'd love to help support the community be being a curator/moderator (and possibly onboarder).

  • I'm good with rules, and I love digging for interesting content.
  • I have zero curation experience, but I've been a moderator on forums, discords, streams, etc. on and off over the last decade.
  • My available time fluctuates, but I can make time to contribute as needed (I work from home). As long as I don't need to participate every day consecutively, I'd most likely have a second monitor up with a tab open to periodically peruse the community posts throughout my day.
  • As a teacher/creative type, I believe I have a good idea for spotting effort regardless of quality. A student will initially put significant effort into something that doesn't turn out so great, and I imagine joining the Hive platform is similar: People will be awkward at first, but encouraging curation can motivate them to learn the ropes faster. (It certainly has for me ;P)

Congratulations to all the other winners, and wish me luck in figuring out how to use this beastie in a new deck! :S

Application for all roles:

#1 Do you have any past experience in curation &/ moderation? -- Yes, was an admin / moderator for a WoW guild on Bloodscalp. Helping with the current contest(s) in OCD.

#2 How many hours per day would you say you have to spend on curation &/ moderation? 2 to 3 at a minimum. Flexibility in my work day would allow me to monitor regularly.

Oh wow, I would have never expected to win 🤩

Thanks a lot for the HBD and the curation! Really appreciated 🙏

I had a great time writing the post!

happy birthday ! you deserve it

Would like to apply for being a curator and moderator.

#1 Do you have any past experience in curation &/ moderation?
Yes. The following list contains moderation experience only, so I'd be completely new to the curation part, but I like to and am able to learn pretty quickly. I don't think it will be any problem to get the hang of the curation part.
This is my current list with moderation experience:

  • Monster Energy subreddit moderator/admin (ongoing)
  • Pusheen Discord server moderator (ongoing)
  • Writer for a game hacking forum (past)
  • Moderator NFT project Encryptas (ongoing)
  • Moderator NFT project The Lazy Sloths (ongoing)
  • Moderator NFT project Look at my Raccoon (ongoing)
  • Social Media and moderation NFT project Frog Family (past)
  • Moderator Personal Health Discord server (40K+ user base) (past)

#2 How many hours per day would you say you have to spend on curation &/ moderation?
2-3 hours. Would love to do more occasionally, but will have to check if that's manageable with work.

Thanks for the opportunity! <3

Congrats all winners!!!

Great job! I imagine was hard select only 8 among all good entries we had for contest!

Very happy with the result! Tks a lot for your support!

It was very fun and great to know more about you all! Becoming a great comunity!

Stay safe...
Keep Hiving!!!

Hello Acidyo.. I would like to apply for the curator and moderator role.

I have curated in the past with my account using 20k leased hive power and my curating apr was between 15-19%. I know that this type of curation is different, but I know I can do it. I can be active during the day, checking the new posts every couple of hours, reading them and doing plagiarism checks, something that I am already doing before I vote.

Now regarding the moderation I do not have much experience, but I think I can do it because I like to follow rules and I feel annoyed when other people do not care about them.
As I said, I will be active, reading and checking all new posts, ensuring that all members are aware and respect the community rules.

I always wanted to integrate into a hive community and OCD is one of the biggest. I think this is a good chance for me because I have plenty of free time this period, so I can be active many hours during the day and I can be very useful for the GU Community.

Thank you so much @acidyo for all the work you put every single day into this community, your efforts are the genesis of this place, and for it, we will always be thankful. Thank you also to @strawhat and @hivegc for the prizes! It is always needed the money as a reward and incentivization for the community as a door to other things that can beneficiate us even more than the HBD.

Changing the subject towards the OCD application, I would love to be part of the Curators/Moderators team. [#1] I have experience as a moderator on the Ikariam forum (MMORTS) back in 2012 or 2013 if I remember correctly, but I believe I can apport value and perform the duties of curators and moderators because I've been working for a few years now leading teams in the cultural scene of my country, that is dealing with heterogeneity, and seize it to go in a single direction, on a precise and delimited guideline and field of action according to prearranged objectives. [#2] About time matters, I have my flexible schedule, so I can be able to perform my duties at least 4 or 5 hours a day, but I hope to be able to organize with whoever I need to -in case of being eligible- the schedule every week to make effective the work done with other members of the team.

Thank you again to all of you previously mentioned, and thanks to the community for being part of and supporting GU. Have a great grind!

Love to see the contest wrap up successfully.

I'd like to apply for moderation/curation.

#1 Do you have any past experience in curation &/ moderation?

No, but I have been active in this community to know many of the key people involved. I'm also active enough to know when someone might be stealing content from these key people. So far, I've not seen anything but good stuff from this group, but as it grows, that may change.

#2 How many hours per day would you say you have to spend on curation &/ moderation?

A few hours a day is probably not a big deal. I'm putting that in already creating daily posts, commenting, upvoting, etc.

Are you in the OCD discord?

Congratulations to everyone who organized this amazing challenge. Excellent!

Thanks for choosing my post, I'm very happy about it 😊

Thank you OCD, @strawhat and @hivegc for the contest.

To actually be one of the winners is a pleasant surprise. Congratulations to the others!

Congratulations mortals! It's been a great contest and the win is well deserved. I am glad I've participated and I will be keeping an eye for the upcoming contests.
Until then good luck and happy holidays to everyone! :)

Congrats Guys, that Polyhymnia, Aetheric Hydra seems juicy 😍, Also I'd like to apply for the Curator/Moderator for Gods Unchained as I’m planning to focus on the community full time from Jan 12th onwards.

Congrats to all of the winners and thank you very much for taking such initiatives on this platform. I wish everyone at the top thought like this as it is initiatives like this that will really bring hive to the 5-10x results.

It is really amazing to see how this platform and this community develop over time. Originally I wanted to curate and build, but I am not so sure if time will permit, but I'll just continue to explore posts and support new people anyways as it pertains to my branding in tcg's overall.

@fakemews is born a gamer.
Congratulations to everyone.

Keep up the good work boss

Amazing contest! Congrats to the winners and lets keep making the community bigger!

I suppose I can try to be a curator as I feel I'm already doing most of those tasks anyways with the exception of antiplagiarism and antiabuse tools. Moderating feels easy I suppose as it is just shunning a lot of toxic acts that normally shouldn't be tolerated anyways. Also being a content consumer and creator I sort of understand the need for diversity of content and would pick and choose to reward contents as such.
