Introducing @ToMastery!

in ToMastery3 years ago

Anyone into personal growth? @ToMastery is a new account based around the concept of going from mediocrity to mastery - in life in general or specific areas.

First off, a clarification. Due to usernames being displayed in lower case, I can assure you it is ToMastery, rather than a guy called Tom Astery or any other reading. Perhaps it would have been prudent to put a dot or dash between, but there you go ;).

This is written mainly by myself: @adambarratt but will be open to contributions down the line. I’ve been a member on Hive (well, Steem) from mid-2017 and have had periods of great activity and quieter spells. Even when not visibly active, I’ve always kept an eye on things and built my account.

I wanted to separate this from my main account for a couple of reasons. I have multiple interests and for some personal development isn’t for them (I mean in the direct sense, they do develop personally of course but not necessarily in consuming this type of material).

This also keeps things focused and can be expanded out.

I got the domain name mediocritytomastery.com some years ago. It was initially a tagline idea for another blog I had, then I decided I would make a project out of it in its own right. I had a membership site for a while but never really got it going so it’s just sat there waiting for an opportunity to be unleashed.

I believe Hive is the perfect place to launch and develop. I may well have a separate website at one point but it makes sense to have everything go through the Hive blockchain (the above domain just forwards to Peakd at the moment).

Some of the content will be based around books. On my @adambarratt account a couple of years ago I had a series of ‘Book Babbles’ which were my thoughts on some classic (and not so classic) self development, business, spiritual, philosophical and other similar genre books. I’ll post links to all those in the next article on this account.

I’ve also started an M2M community on Hive. I’m quite new to that side of things, so I’ve just set it up as something that could be expanded upon, so we’ll see how that goes. Feel free to get involved! All posts and engagement would be great.

I think coming out of the pandemic and everything that has brought, people are going to be looking to get back on track, and ultimately thrive. Yes, there was always that desire to a degree with many people but there has been an obvious ‘pattern interrupt’ in people’s lives. Everyone’s been affected in one way or another. Some seriously, others not so much, but no-one has escaped unscathed. With people coming out of the ‘cocoon’ as it were, they will really be ready to get going again.

For some that will be out of necessity (loss of jobs etc), for others it will be time for change following a period of reflection. Some will need to shed some weight, others just want to smash their fitness further. And of course, everyone wants a little more cash whether it’s immediately necessary or not. People will also need to get up to speed with developing technologies so they can navigate effectively the waters ahead.

So join me/us for the ride! Any tips etc all warmly received and greatly appreciated.

What do you make of it all? Where do you find yourself at this time? And what would be most useful for you going forward?

~ Adam
