RE: Roundup For the December 30th Pimp Your Post Thursday

Thank you for sharing your experience, it really is encouraging and I appreciate that.

I've never really done much public speaking to be able to tell, but I never thought about it as something I might have an issue with.

Generally speaking, I'm not much of a talker in real life, and as weird as this may sound on a social platform, I'm not that social either. 😁
I don't have a problem with that normally, or so I believe, but I do avoid being in the spotlights as much as I can.

The issue with voice for me, however. Have few other reasons on why I avoid it, most notably is the language barrier.
If this was, say in my native language for example, I probably wouldn't have given it much thought. But to do voice in a language I never speak? I do have issues with making a fool out of myself. 😒

Before you ask, I don't use a dictionary, auto-corrector, or any other language tool. What you read by me here or anywhere, is just me typing.. With all my errors, typos, screwy grammer, lack of vernacular..etc. Which probably shows. I rarely get true feedback about my language, usually just people being nice with compliments. 🤷‍♂️

Speaking however, is a much different story as I never have spoken English really or even learned it in a conventional way.

I have done so before, after couple of drinks or maybe a little more. 🙃 And... ermm, I don't even remember how I did? 😅 (p.s I don't drink now)
I just don't think I'm good enough when articulating what I want to say on the fly. And it has been difficult for me to convince myself that "it's okay".

So until then...

I will tag @dreemsteem and @shadowspub since you've done so, so they may understand and excuse me from going on voice any time soon. Although Dreemy already knows the gist of this.

aw that's ok... !LOLZ love that drinking story 😉 that's hilarious. Your inner 'English' self broke free hehe. I just wanted to share a piece of myself with you so that you didn't feel like you were the only one struggling a bit with the voice aspect...regardless of the reason. It is a little daunting! Your command of the English language is exceptional by the way! And that's not just me being kind. It truly is...but I hear you 💗

I'm gald you did. Always love to know about other people and their experiences. ❤

regardless of the reason. It is a little daunting

It can be daunting for sure, I wasn't trying to down-play it at all 😅
Just explaining the main reason for me.

Your command of the English language is exceptional by the way! And that's not just me being kind. It truly is...but I hear you 💗

Thank you! I honestly have no other way to know. But I do get in stupendously awkward situations from time to time, and that makes me look back and wonder how many times I've done such mistakes, and how bad my language actually is.

Thanks again for sharing your experience. I loved how you forced yourself into the situation. And honestly, this would be the way for me to speak English irl, but I'm not brave enough maybe to jump off such a cliff like that online, haha

Much !LUV ❤

You know, I've heard so many hold back from sharing on voice who write beautiful English even though it is not their first language. You know what, almost every time they have decided to give the mic a try, we've been able to understand them. Your English doesn't have to fluent, just be willing to give it a try and not get frustrated if someone needs to ask you to repeat something. You will get stronger every time.
