To be honest, we can't really blame Mr Jabez for acting the way he did. He might be a prick for not allowing his daughter to marry Samson but what kind of father would allow their daughter to marry someone she barely knows? Moreover, a man that might not have a future? To me it seemed like Mr Jabez was just protecting his daughter from a marriage that she might regret in the future.

That being said, Mr Jabez was at fault for not investigating Samson's background. Because if he did, he might not have acted that way towards Samson.

But at times some people engaged themselves in rough job when there is no alternative to survive and they don't want their images to be tarnished if there are stealing and the likes. We should not look down on any one due to the kind of job they are doing. About all, thank you for your comments.
