Hello Hivers, I want to share a beautiful story with you and I hope you enjoy it. Pls let me know what you think and if you would like subsequent updates on the story.
Thank y'all.

It's a story I wrote some years ago but didn't publish. Still trying to figure out a title. Would Love suggestions on that please.

CHAPTER 1:

Tony was so tired and thirsty. He checked the time on his wristwatch, it was past 4pm. He sighed and kept muttering to himself. That explained the hunger. He was yet to eat anything and the day was almost over. He had been walking since morning in search of a job. He visited every office he came across their vacancy posters and they all had same thing to say; "your CV is quite impressive but we are afraid you have no experience".

How can one have experience when he's never been given the opportunity he kept asking himself. Who would have thought that Tony Eze, the best graduating student in his set with a first class is yet to get a job 2 years after graduation.

He remembered the promise he made to his mother the day he graduated. "Thank you mum for your efforts and sacrifices,I promise to give you a better life to reward your struggles to see me through school." He then left for the city in search of greener pastures hoping to get a job and then move his mother to the city with him.

Two years gone and he was yet to get a job. He felt so frustrated. As he kept walking he came across another vacancy poster, he raised his hands to shield his eyes from the scorching sun and he read the advert. A human resource manager was needed in a well known establishment. He laughed at himself as he felt he was not qualified. But something kept urging him to take down the details so he did. Afterwards he decided to head home because he was really hungry and tired. He concluded it was better to go there the next day when he must have rested.

Tony hurried home as he remembered he had some leftover food from yesterday. On getting home he went hurriedly to the corner of his room that served as his kitchen and opened his pot only to discover it was empty. He then remembered he ate the remnant late in the night. He walked dejectedly back to his bed. He lay down and looked around his room. The only property he had was this small mattress which was on the floor, the only 3 shirts he owned which were almost worn out, a pair of trouser, a pair of shorts, two boxers, a singlet which he washed Everytime he wore it out. He looked to his kitchen section, just a small stove, a pot, a kettle, two plates, a knife and some spoons. He sighed to himself wondering when he was going to get a breakthrough.
