Hypersensitivosaurus felt a strong urge to talk but there were no animals around and he could really use a moment of silence.
So,
instead,
he decided to sit down in his garden,
to enjoy his freshly baked oatmeal bread,
while looking at the clouds drifting by.
Aside from the white and grey, sheep-shaped things up above,
there was a beautiful blue to be marvelled at.
Rain was in the making.
Suprisingly, the smell of freshly baked bread hadn't attracted his buddy, Mild-Mannered Wolf.
Perhaps the other had been too occupied,
or the wind had been blowing in the wrong direction.
Or, maybe, his furry friend just preferred the smell of oil.
Some creatures had weirdly developed senses, to say the least.
thought the creature named Supersensitivosaurus
The above is just a little piece of writing, mixing my daily life with that of the main character of my stories of the last 2.5 years. It's an attempt to get back into writing mode, at a time when I should really focus on finishing the second edition of my first ( self ) published book.
More on that book - The Life of Hypersensitivosaurus - '22 Short Stories about Dinos and other animals' - can be found in my previous posts.
Here's a few of them, from eldest to newest
On unboxing the first 10 physical copies of my book, three weeks ago
Thoughts on the second edition
And for those of you have loads of time to spare or who feel my writing is super intriguing, there's hundreds of posts to go through, on my timeline, that I've written since October 2019 - the month when I first came up with the character named Hypersensitivosurus. There's also 5 to 10 stories involving Mild-Mannered Wolf. The dino and wolf tend to play chess together and the latter enjoys wolfind down the food of the former.
Or - instead of scrolling through my blog - you could just get your hands on a copy of my book, in the near future, and save loads of time. I accept Hive and HBD.
TO BE CONVINUED...
The pictures included show the view from my garden as well as an oatmeal bread that I baked days ago.
That bread looks delicious. Didn't know raptors could eat gluten! Big props to you always for your commitment to this beautiful narrative, my friend. I've been talking with @selfhelp4trolls about your art and I really think that it has the potential to become suddenly viral. I decree great success for you in all projects! Un fuerte abrazo!
Thank you so much for your heartfelt message and well-wishes.
I could really use that today :^)
Gracias amigo,
un fuerte abrazo de volta!
That oatmeal bread looks yummy. I wonder if that was Harry in the sky you saw 😉🐑?
It must have been Harry indeed. He was sailing on a skateboard and there was a soccer shaped cloud nearby.
And yes, it did taste good. Made another one today that was just munched away by my sister and her family ( and me ), they came over for dinner and a movie as well as to pick up my niece and nephew who spent two days at my place.
Big hug!
This made me chuckle mate. I think I have a weirdly developed sense of humor, to say the least 😂
Intriguing characters, and I can very much see these stories appealing to kids and YA readers.
Haha! Your humor is approved.
What do you mean with YA readers?
Cheers for the kind words :<)
YA = young adult. Basically a publishing industry term for adolescent to early teenage age group.
Although, I personally think your writing feels more like quality whimsical children's literature m8 👍🙂
I see :^)
I wondered whether it stood for 'Young Age', haha!
In all honesty, I feel my writing is for all ages, although the youngest might need some explaining ( as I sometimes use difficult words and, often, longish sentences )
You're too kind. Much appreciated!
P.S. I even wrote a blog post or two, not too long ago, about writing for all ages.
My work is hard to label and thus not that easy to sell but hey, that's fine by me. I prefer originality, over being a sell-out and I got a bunch of groupies, here on Hive and in real life, all waiting to buy my book(s) ;^)
I love that you have a garden now 🙂 I actually read one of your garden posts, but I don't think I left a comment.
Anyway, it's always nice to read what you are up to and good luck finishing the second edition 🙂
It sure is nice, indeed. I should spent more time in there, will probably plant an orange tree tomorrow or the day after, with my niece and nephew.
Thank you! I can really use the encouragement
Abraço!
Yum, Vincent!!
Tasty looking clouds, right? ;>)
I baked a bread like this, four times, in the past week or so.
Getting better and better at it, tweaking the recipe bit by little bit,
while leaving open space for improvisation.
I love bread with oats or some other grated veg in: my best bread ever had grated parsnips in it - lovely and moist with a sweet taste... mmmm - I'm just munching on luxurious biscuits that arrived !surprise! in the post - yippee! Your bread looks wonderful.
Parsnips, now that sounds intriguing :>)
Enjoy your surprise biscuits!
P.S. This bread almost tastes like biscuit.
It's tough on the outside, slightly soft on the inside
and aside from tasty, it's very (ful)filling.
The latter is important for someone like me, who burns calories like crazy,
even when their body is inactive.
Looking forward to co-creating again tomorrow!
Makes me want to eat some crunchy spiced olive bread!!!!
It's easy to make. I'll probably share my recipe soonish ;^)
Is the digital one done ?
Nope, getting there but am / was way too distracted.
And I want my twin sister to spend some time on the ( image ) layout, before I hit print / consider the second edition finished.
Well if Hyper is used to hearing from Wolf every so often (especially if freshly baked bread is involved) maybe he needs checking up on to make sure he's okay XD
It's been a while since I cloudwatched, hope he/you enjoyed that and the bread which looks yummy :D
I love the view, and WOW, the bread looks sooooo delicious! i like that... Un abrazo amigo! Hace mucho tiempo que no leía tus posts! saludos :)
