What a save that was! It's really unlikely for people to risk their lives for another.

Mr. Bethel deserves awards.

Thanks to your mother, who used to give to him. If he had died of starvation, the baby would've died as well.

Our good deeds usually go beyond the primary recipient to affects lives we might never know.

I was also waiting for uncle Bethel to come out . Hmmmm...I was pounding in breath thinking that he is not going to come out any longer but thank God that he later saved the boy. He is a hero....

This is an excellent story, @ubani1. Mr. Bethel is certainly an "unlikely hero." The story has a great message about human kindness and generosity. Thanks for reading and commenting on other stories in the community!

Great story, @ubani1. It was very suspenseful at the end! We are left hoping that Mr. Bethel will be treated will recover. I dared to hope that saving a child's life might even help him to renew his quest to live life fully. You did a very nice job in this story with character development, and including great scene descriptions and dialog.

There is one place where you might want to edit. The first sentence is a bit hard to understand. Maybe instead of "shrine" you mean "shone"?
