Surprisingly, I did not only see my mom seated watching Tv, I saw her with my dad. They were both watching the evening news while sitting and snacking. My mom seemed to be having a good time as she was laughing so hard and occasionally fell on my dad's laps.
I was glad that they settled their differences. So I adjusted myself, got into the house, greeted and headed straight to my room. Just when I thought that I was off the hook, I heard my dad authoritatively yell, "come back here!".

When Life Rewrites the Story
As if Abia State wasn’t enough, now I faced the prospect of working in a remote area. I laughed, not because it was funny, but because crying wouldn’t change anything. My worst fears about NYSC were being realized. When I first registered, I prayed for a placement in a developed area, somewhere that could support my content creation dreams. Instead, I was sent to a village.
Six months later, I’m still here. And while the journey hasn’t been easy, I can say this: the stones life threw at me have laid the foundation for something greater.
It took me a long time to accept this new reality and even longer to adapt. The village forced me to slow down, to be patient with myself and with life.

THE TREE
That day, a different feeling came over her. She knew it was love, but in a different way. She took off her shoes and dug her feet into the warm, damp soil of the orchard. A tingling sensation, like that of thousands of ants, began to climb up her legs. It was strange that he could feel it under his skin. She felt her toes lengthen and cling to the ground, she was taking root. Her once soft skin was hardening to withstand the rigors of the outdoors. She raised her hands, intertwining them with the hair that was now green branches.

A change of life
The next morning, the children cried uncontrollably and their cries woke Willy up. He saw Jorin waving goodbye and then turned to his brother with tears streaming down his cheeks. “Thank you, Brother.” And closed the door.
“Don't cry anymore, children. Your father will be back soon. Let's have ice cream in the afternoon. Shall we?” The children hugged Willy in tears, and he began to feel something deep inside him. “Well, children, I will leave you in the care of my secretary, Dolly. She is good and understanding and listens to her.”
“Yes, uncleee!” The children pounced on the surprised Willy.

Letters Reach Far
“No. In fact, Mr. Weatherluck took the letter from the floor with a big smile. He opened it gently, looked at me as if thanking me and proceeded to open the paper in it.”
It looked as if that letter had a bomb in it, for Mr. Weatherluck's whole features quivered horribly, and he immediately fell sprawling on the floor like a log. I tried to help him, but I think I was stiffer than Mr. Weatherluck,” explained Donalx.
“And his wife?” asked Chisbaily, who was holding on to his curly hair with all her might.

A Purse, A Stranger, and Lagos
wo days later, I was at home listening to music from my tiny speaker box, humming to the tune of 80's music emanating from the box while I cooked in my kitchen. The aroma of the fresh tomato beef stew I was cooking filled my apartment. I had already forgotten about my loss and was in the process of retrieving my lost ATM and identification cards.
Then I heard a knock on the door. Must be Mama Chinedu I thought. I walked to the door with my fluffy flip-flops slapping against my soft sole and opened it; on the other side was a tall, lanky young man in his early twenties.

The bombshell
My grandparents were old, so we had to employ a carer for them who will be in charge of cooking, laundry, and general cleaning of the house, likewise taking care of them. Getting to see them in their old age is beautiful, I must say. Their humorous characters and telling of different stories, likewise, their strong belief in superstitions, look so cool to us because our generation is a lot different from theirs. In this century, we don't tend to believe such unrealistic things, though they said they are realistic, not just as effective as it was during their time.
