“Hello, Simon. It's me. Sally. Please, tell me where you are. I want to see you.” I sent the text. I looked at the many unread texts I had sent previously. He would probably not read this one too but I would not stop trying either way. Just then, my phone rang with a call from an unknown number.
“Hello?” I said with uncertainty. What if it was Simon?
“Hello.” Simon’s voice came through. It was his voice, but tinged with the tone of despair and sadness.
“Simon! Where are you?” I asked with a desperate tone.

Against All Odds
Elena flipped through the pages, then came upon a small faded note tucked between two of them. It read, “Love is the secret ingredient, but there’s more. Add a touch of hibiscus — it makes them come back for more.” Elena smiled, feeling her grandmother’s spirit with her. She’d always felt that something was missing, something that made her grandmother’s pastries special — a hint of floral, tart sweetness.

Where the Wild Things Are
Suddenly, a grumble filled the air followed by cracking sounds. Lami gently lifted her head to see the gorilla bending, stretching, and coming to life before her eyes. She paced back and the gorilla shook.
He narrowed his eyes as if adjusting his focus. In an instant, he swept Lami off the ground holding her up in the air. He opened his mouth in an attempt to gobble her down. Like an ant held by giant hands, Lami barely moved.
“Why aren't you scared?” The gorilla thundered and tossed Lami into a giant rose petal.

Camila turned around, and passed well away, from the entrance of the cave to talk to the bees. And when he got to talk to the bees, they told him, "Run, little bear, you're in danger." But Camila didn't have a chance to run, because when she turned around, she could only see the huge mouth of the witch's basilisk, jumping on her and swallowing her up in a single movement.
