RE: Pain and Disrespect (Tired but couldn't leave)

in The Ink Well2 years ago

Your story intertwines the stories of three people — Ada, the narrator, and the girl who is allowing herself to be abused by a disloyal boyfriend. It's a complex story. The way it wraps up, with the three of them being friends, is a really nice ending.

We have some feedback for you. The first thing is that we ask our writers not to write stories in The Ink Well focused on abuse and violence. These are very disturbing concepts to those who have experienced them, and we try to make sure our community is a safe and welcoming place for all readers. (You can read more about this in our article on violence in our catalog of fiction writing tips.) Please note this for the future.

The second piece of feedback is that we have a great article on writing dialogue. It describes how to format the things that people say in your stories, which should be helpful to you for future stories.

And the last piece of feedback is about your tags. We accept two types of stories in The Ink Well: fictional stories (completely made up by you) and creative nonfiction stories (real life stories from your experiences). Please make sure you tag your stories appropriately:

Thank you for sharing your story in The Ink Well. And we appreciate that you are reading and commenting on the work of other community members.
