The imagery you've built out does a great job of creating a believable "world" within the story. And the omniscient perspective, which is very difficult to master, is carried off well. We never see this world through the eyes of any one character, which for some can feel impersonal; but your setting, tension and story arc are strong enough to carry the reader along!
