This story deals with motivation, as much as it deals with anything else. A child may have talent, may have ability, but if the desire to work and learn does not exist, then learning will not occur. You explain well in this piece how a child may be so discouraged by his parents' attitude, that he loses all interest in school. Only when a teacher finds the key to his inclination is this child motivated to learn.

You trace the steps to the child's progress well, and the gradual understanding of his parents also. We appreciate in the end that the father is acting out of fear and out of experience. However, because he relents eventually Moses blossoms in school.
