Welcome to The Ink Well Golden Quill Writer Showcase!

After some time away, we are bringing back our Golden Quill series! In this series, we select one writer to showcase in each edition. The selected writer is an author whose work consistently demonstrates the writing skills we promote in our writing prompts and our catalog of storytelling tips.

In all cases, The Ink Well Golden Quill will showcase a community member in good standing in The Ink Well who regularly publishes in our community and supports other community members by reading and commenting on their work.

In addition to showcasing one of the author's recent stories, we will also reward a Golden Quill badge to the writer.

Story Excerpt: Prisms

One day, it would be her turn, she thought as she handed her little brother a plate of pancakes and fruit. She would have a family and take care of them with her husband. They would buy a house big enough for all of them. Then her own children would become parents, and she would watch her grandchildren play in the sun.

Was there more to it? She wondered. During her journey, she thought she had experienced alternate configurations to the question of what a woman wants. She knew that last night's experience had been the moment that changed everything within her, but the future had been nebulous, and yesterday's visions were quickly fading in the erasure of memory.

What We Loved

In this story, @litguru creates a magical experience through augmented reality that gives the character a whirlwind tour of women's experiences around the world, giving her insight intot their similarities and differences, and much to think about with regard to her own family and her choices for the future. It's a futuristic, yet beautifully imagined tale that gives the reader much to think about as well.
