Hello all, I'm a newbie here, infact this is my first entry in a poetic challenge. I simply hope it's worth your time and that you enjoy it as much as I loved writing it. Cheers.
Winded by an awakening that
the change isn’t imminent,
that this love will take from
me more than it ever gave.
It irks me, watching myself
been gutted like a sacrifice
to the gods, feels like I’m
trapped in a squared circle.
Hawks have come to feast
on my carcass, thrashed in
an open field like a nuisance.
This bothers me.
Your countenance suggest
I’m just a bugbear, like a
thorn in your flesh, i'm stuck
between love and accepting fate.
This one speaks volumes of life and it's ever present regrets. Death sweeps in faster than anything else...

Even if you are a beginner, as you say, your text presents, for me, very interesting aspects and very significant images between change and destiny. I particularly liked the last three verses: "I’m just a bugbear, like a / thorn in your flesh, i'm stuck / between love and accepting fate." Greetings, @okikithegreat.
