Hulu woke from sleep in her room and suddenly everywhere went black. It looked as if she was in an alternate universe, everything and everywhere looked familiar yet different. There was a rumble of great thunder and everyone outside was running for cover. She stepped out of her room to see what her family was up to, her sister and daughter were having lunch, the rest was just playing around, they don't seem to hear the thunder or chaos outside, the new building just opposite their own just collapsed. Hulu went back to her room, she could see everything going on outside from her bedroom window. She decided to go out, dressed in denim pants and a sweatshirt, she walked towards the chaos.
Hulu seemed to be the children's warrior, as she gathered children to fight bad people in the past weeks. Now she saw the chaos clearly, some children gathered around a man dressed like he was going for a battle. He wore black armor and a red shield, which was weird to Hulu. Who wears armor and shield to battles in this century? Hulu thought. So Hulu walked to get a closer look, the man clearly thought he could bully the children away but they gathered him like flies. He was a very bad man, one of the men that destroyed the city.
And something strange happened, the children dragged the man till he was torn in two. His head fell off, and his hands tore in different directions. Hulu closed her eyes, she hates the sight of blood even though she sees it in every battle. Damn, this children are mean, they tore this man into two. wow! even I don't fight this way Hulu thought. The most she had done was to cut off her opponent's head with an ax... Hulu opened her eyes, but she was surprised at what she saw, a fire was gushing out of the dead man's chest, not blood, but fire... Now Hulu was sure she was in an alternate universe, how can a man bleed fire and not blood? And it didn't end there, a little beast started coming out of the fire.
Now hold on! First, a group of children tore this man into two, then he bled fire instead of blood, and to crown it all, a little beast emerged from the fire. Okay, someone wake me up! Hulu thought. This had to be an alternate universe, she had fought battles but she had not seen anything like this. But these children were fearless, they were trying to kill the beast, it looked like they were used to this kind of thing.
Suddenly, Hulu realized she was holding her ax. She couldn't remember coming out with it but she knew what she must do. With one swing, she drove the ax into the little beast's chest. And just like magic, the little beast exploded into a fire burning the dead man's corpse to ashes, including the beast. The children turned to see who swung the ax, and they realized it was Hulu. They gathered around her, chanting her name, Hulu, Hulu. One boy stood out, Hulu, teach me how to fight He said, holding her tight. Suddenly she realized, it wasn't a dream, the battle against evil is getting real... But is she ready?
