In with the New

As she opened her eyes she found herself at the backyard with her little brother, seemed like they had been playing around like they always did after hanging the decorations every year until she went to college, she hadn't felt like that in a while, so free and without restraint, then came her parents who'd always get them both to clean up themselves and ready for dinner but their voices were inaudible for some reason, as she tried calling out to them she woke up on the bus coincidentally next to her stop when she saw them outside waiting for her.

Shirley was so excited to finally spend New year's at home with her family after being away for three years in college, she had always imagined how it would feel hanging the festive decorations again with her junior brother Neo, how she had missed him and her parents, she secretly hoped nothing had changed back home as she ran towards them with a big embrace in her possession.

Neo was all grown up now and even had a girlfriend, her dad had gotten a new job as a supervisor at an automobile company and her mom who was an author had began a successful book club, although shirley felt a little foreign being in a different environment than she remembered she was still happy to be back.
