RE: Evergreen And Everlasting Traditions (It's time to make the holidays bright for others)

Personal stories like this really help us to think about the needs in the world, and consider what we can each do to help. I love how this story illustrates that small actions can have big outcomes. A child who is an overlooked and unloved little girl today could be the scientist who develops the life-saving scientific breakthrough of tomorrow. Or figures out how to create world peace, or solve world hunger... or make a difference in the lives of other unwanted children.

This is what Mey-Yii's village, and even her own mother and grandmother fail to see. She is what they literally call a throwaway child 😢

Hopefully she won't think of herself that way, and will know that she can do anything she is inspired to do. Luckily she does have a neighbor there who cares about her, which is how I heard her story. There must be countless kids out there with literally no one :(
