RE: Saved By The Police

in The Ink Well4 years ago

Hi @nazzyvic. Welcome to Hive and thank you for joining us in The Ink Well. As one of The Ink Well moderators, I help to encourage our community members, and also keep an eye out for copyright and plagiarism issues, which of course we do not allow in our community.

We noticed that this story bears a striking resemblance to another a story by one of our community members: https://peakd.com/hive-170798/@bruno-kema/into-the-jungle. Hopefully it is just a coincidence, but there are many details that are similar, so I wanted to make sure you know that we only accept 100% unique content. The person posting the content must be the original author, and must not have simply revised a story that has already been told. We use plagiarism checkers and report any violations to Hive Watchers.

Can you please verify that this is your own unique content? Thank you.

Hello @jayna the story is 100% mine and any resemblance to any other story is totally coincidental.. As you know, I'm new to hive and I haven't really read much of anyone post here..

Everything I wrote up there was born out of my own imagination.

Thank you very much for confirming, @nazzyvic. That's what I was hoping to hear. We wish you well and hope you continue to be inspired by our prompts! You did tell a very interesting story. I'm very glad to know that it is your own original work.

I just read the story on the link you dropped and although I could see the resemblance, I assure you that it's nothing but just coincidence.

I actually worked hard on this one myself and seeing that I'm not getting the praises I thought I deserved for it is heartbreaking.

Hello nazzyvic,
Don't be heartbroken. If you read the first three comments here, you will see that they praise your story. We have difficulty with people who don't write original stories and that is why we are cautious. Anyone can vote on your story, as I am going to do now. If we firmly believed the story was plagiarized, we would have muted it.

This story reminded me of something that happened to my sister. She was being followed by some bad actors when she was driving late at night. She did what your protagonist did. She drove straight to the police station and the bad actors drove away.

I hope you come back and write a story about this week's prompt, cats. You obviously enjoy writing and can create a believable story arc. I look forward to reading that story.

Thank you for your kind words @agmoore I sure needed them... I will check out the prompts and see if I can cook up something.
