The ink well nonfiction. Read all terms and conditions.

Terms and conditions is a strong detailed well articulated writing that has backed up every contract, jobs, transactions and whatever that has to do with knowledge.

And I will advise that one should go through every detail mentioned on the basis of terms and conditions before signing anything for any reason.

I once was offered a job that would have been a promising one, a job that needs more attention as that's the only way to enhance your promotion at work.
I got an email from the office asking me to report at the office on or before the last day in the month of August. That mail has been laying in my box for over a week that I didn't discover until that day when it was supposed to have elapsed.

Out of curiosity I boarded the next available car that dropped me off at the venue. I was almost late as I met so many people who had been there before me.

Series of interviews were passed on to the various people seated there. It was about to go down before I entered.
Lucky me, I was offered the opportunity to be interviewed which of course i did well that came from the interviewer.

I met close to 70 people who came for the interview but then I was among the 6 lucky persons who were selected for the job.

We were issued our appointment letters when we were tested to be medically fit for the job.

That was where the whole thing got messed up.

Attached to their appointment letter is the terms and conditions ruled out on what we must take into consideration as we carry out our jobs although we already know what our job is but then some key things were outlined in the page where the terms and condition were written which would have served as the pass way into our greatness but curiosity did not allow 5 of us go through these terms and conditions we blatantly skipped and signed blindly without taking note.

Here we have been working for the past 2 years without advancement but then one of us who went through those details worked for just 7 months and when his promotion came he was made to supervise us.

But then his rapid promotion got me amazed as it made me more close to him. I asked if he knew someone in the head office but his reply was No.

Considering how close we became he decided to tell me some of the secrets which were written but we were too careless not to go through them. We have always told ourselves that the Devil was at work since we couldn't elevate from our position to another.

We always make use of the phrase “Village people are at work in our lives” unknowing to us that we were the village people harming ourselves, only if we had just performed a simple task of reading all this would have been history by now.

Sort:

I mostly skip reading terms and conditions but sometimes I do skim through it just to get a sense of what I'm agreeing to. You and the other persons made a terrible mistake by not reading the terms and conditions of a company that just employed you. Well, at least now you have learned your lesson

It's better you do read them.

I just learned a very important lesson from this post because I have never read terms and conditions before even online. I just tick or sign not minding the repercussions but as it is now, I have to be very careful.

Reading through terms and conditions can be a pain in the ass, but I once rejected a job offer due to some conditions written on the terms and conditions of their offer letter.

If I'm to take up any job I'm always very careful and take my time to read and digest all their terms and conditions to avoid unwanted conditions in the future.

I hope there is something you guys can do about that your job in order to get a more better working conditions.

Yes, the best thing to do.

Many times the excitement of getting a stable job causes certain details to be omitted that later come to light over time and will create frustrations.

Thanks for sharing.
Good day.

Wow, this is one thing that has spoiled we black people a lot, the question have you read and agreed to the term and conditions doesn't stay a minute before we click yes whereas, we don't even know what was written, at the end of the day we face issues and have no choice to consult the so called experts who only has the advantage of going through the details, and we pay a lot of money to get things fixed.

I hope you were/are able to bend things write since you've gotten the answer and get to proceed to the next stage at work, 2 years without progress is a looooong time

Yes, things are in place now.

The concept for this piece is interesting, @iyimoga. We wonder, what were the terms and conditions that were skipped over. You never let us know. You merely explain that the workers skipped over that part and suffered consequences. We are left to wonder, what was it that was skipped?

Thank you for sharing this with us, @iyimoga

I guess it's was excitement that makes you guys not read the terms and conditions

Yes, excitement and curiosity.

I'm guilty of this. Most times I find it boring to read through. Sometimes too I just browse through it without understanding much. But will put it into consideration since some important details are left behind the ink.

I was very curious to know the details in the terms and condition that prevented your promotion but sadly you didn't share this.

Sorry it was bi cutted.

It was all about some extra mile stuff where you have to go further than what you are asked to do.

Lolz, exactly, we are the village people ourselves. I don't take time to read the terms and conditions of things I bought o

You better start doing.
