Valentina of the waters.

Greetings to all the community, I hope you have a nice day. I made up this story, I drew the pictures myself. I have practiced a little more.

Once upon a time there was a fisherman and his wife, who lived in a humble hut with their daughter, Valentina. The father would spend up to a week at sea to feed them. They were happy in their dwelling even though sometimes they did not have enough money.

One day the family decided to meet at the table, the husband had a job offer to communicate. He had been offered to work on a ship where he would be very well paid, but that would mean being at sea for months.

His wife Ana was not convinced by this idea, for her the wealth was in the union. "As we are, it's fine, why do you want to fix it, I don't want you to leave," said Ana.

José took both her hands and clasped them in his and said with a soft tone of voice: "Everything is achieved with sacrifice, I can't stand to be without you either, but I do it for you, to see you laugh is my salary, that you never lack anything is my satisfaction".

They both laughed and sealed the agreement with a kiss of love.

The next day, they got up very early to go to the dock, it was cold so he hugged his wife with the intention of transmitting warmth to her. Before leaving, he said to his daughter; "take good care of your mother, remember that I will be away. will you take care of her?

Yes. Valentina replied.

The sky began to take on other hues and when he left, so did the night.

Goodbye daddy, Valentina shouts.

Goodbye dear daughter

Since her father left, Valentina did everything she could to cheer up her mother, singing improvised songs while hugging her and Ana did the same for her. Both competed in comparing their love for each other with huge things, like the planet, or the sun.

One day when Ana felt very sick, she had already had a high fever with chills for days. Valentina tried to help her mother by giving her some lemon tea and soaking a cloth to regulate the fever. But her mother didn't seem to be getting better.

Mommy, are you all right? asked Valentina.

Ana smiled and said, "Yes, I just have a cold.

Ana would not wake up, she was immersed in a deep sleep and all Valentina's attempts to wake her up did not work. The girl went in search of help to the town that was only a few minutes away from her house.

Ana was more than asleep, these were very sad and regrettable days. Velentina, during her farewell began to improvise a song as she used to do. The villagers listened to her with a faint voice and their tears escaped from their eyes

Mother I will sing to you in your silence I will visit you all my life, until the day comes when I will see you again, come follow me in my heart, I have your place reserved just for you.

Some close neighbors took Valentina in while her father returned, they accepted her with affection and always tried to make her laugh, little by little she was adapting to her new home with Mrs. Ramona and her husband Efrain.

One day Vanlentina had the idea of taking a dip in the tank where they drank the water, which annoyed Mrs. Ramona.

Valetina! shouted Ramona. "How can you think of taking a bath in the water we drink?

The girl was frightened and to get out of the way she said "I tried to get water and fell in".

She thought she would be beaten, but Ramona smiled, dried her with a towel and said: "Now we are all going to have to drink dirty water".

The villagers loved her very much, and wherever she went they greeted her kindly, but months went by and her father did not return. She would always ask for him and they would say, "He should be back next month," but he never returned.

One day Valentina argued with the children of the village, because one of them told her that her father had died long ago. She was angry and at the same time afraid that it was true.

At night she thought about how many kisses she would give her father, she owed them all to him. The hours passed thinking about his caresses, about coming home and feeling the warmth of her home, her tears shone in her eyes, while she saw through the window the night and the lights of the fireflies.

The next day, Efrain decided to talk to Ramona.

"Ramona, we can't hide the truth, she is sad every night, we have to tell her that the boat where Jose was sank in the sea".

Ramona replied, "Remember that news was the one that depressed her mother, many say it was the reason for her death.

Sooner or later she is going to find out, it is better that I tell her," said Efrain.

Valentina was about to go to class when she was interrupted by Efrain.

Ramona tried to stop him, but in Efrain's mind it was a matter to overcome, with the girl.

Valentina! Wait, come with me, I have to tell you something. Listen to me. We are going to take good care of you, I will always love you as if you were my daughter. I want you to understand this, because your father is not coming back.

Why do you say that? asked Valentina.

Efrain and Ramona remained silent and Valentina was afraid to ask again, she simply said as if she didn't care, "I'm going to school" but walked wherever any road would take her.

13

img_20211115_125832.jpg

The hours passed and as she did not return they decided to go out looking for her, all the people of the town also joined in. There was not a single person in the area who was not looking for her, they shouted her name but there was no trace of her.
14

Deep in the forest, on a rock, stood the girl, looking down at the ground and silent.

Ramona had the impression that if she called out to her she might walk away, but Valentina got up and hugged her crying. "Valentina look" said Ramona. When the girl raised her head she was surrounded by all the villagers, she noticed their concern, turned to look at Ramona and said, "Take me home. do you know how to get back? Ramona extinguishing her tears laughed and said, yes.

And so the years passed and she was very happy and accepted by everyone, Efrain and Ramona loved her so much that she returned to sing improvised songs.

In the rock where Valentina shed her tears, perhaps by magic, or perhaps by the pain of the soul, over time it became wet, until it became a huge lagoon, and all the people who live in the nearby villages call that place Valentina's Lagoon.
