From the age of 10, Martins Miles voice was beyond average. People on the streets stopped his mother and told her how lucky she was to have suck a talented son. "Your son is gifted and his voice would take him far beyond his Imagination." They would say.

Martins sang in the church choir and was greatly admired by many, he took part in music competitions and always came out top tier. To Martins, Music was his ambition, It was his career but to his parents, It was just a mere talent.

"Martins, your voice is good and your music is interesting but you have to go to college and study medicine. Doctors really make good money in this world and Education remains the key." His father told him one morning over the dinning table where they were all seated.

"Alright Dad." Martins said, forcing out a smile.

By the time Martins was in high school, during break time, he would sneak into the music room recording tracks on his phone. His best friend-Dave would sit from a distance listening to the sweet melody. "Martins, you really should go full-time into this music." Dave said to his friend one day.

"I know right, but that's not what my parents want. They want me to become a medical doctor." Martins replied sadly.

"Your parents shouldn't make your life decisions for you, you know what you want and you should go for it. So now, what do you want?" Martins didn't reply but the look on his face said it all.

Martins went to college and for years he memorized medical terms that he didn't care about just to get a good certificate and at the end it payed off well. Martins graduated from medical school with good grades and his parents were pleased with him. "My boy, you have made us proud." His father said to him on the day of his graduation.

When it was time for Martins to take up a Job at one of the states finest hospitals, he declined.

"I have fulfilled your wish by going to college, now it's time you let me fulfill mine of becoming a music artist." He spoke to his parents one morning.

"This is insane! All those years in medical school you just want to throw it all away because of your pointless ambition? I would never let that happen." His mum responded to his statement.

"What then happens to all the sacrifices we made for you? Just to see you through college and ensure you come out with a good degree." His dad added.

"I'm sorry mum and dad but I have made my decision and it's final." Martins said as he walked out on them and closed the door behind him.

The music world didn't welcome him with open hands. Martins rented a small apartment in the city and he began working as a bartender in a bar where he was getting some money to fund his music career.

He worked tiredlesssly, day and night, recording tracks in his basement which he sent to producers. Unfortunately for him, none of these producers responded to him and this was making him loose hope and confidence in himself.

"What's up man." Dave greeted his friend as they shook hands at the bar where Martins worked.

"I'm fine brother, just that I'm starting to loose hope, what if this music of a thing doesn't work out for me? Maybe my parents were right, I should pursue my medical career."

"Don't even think of a thing like that, you have put in so much effort into your music career? Why give up all of a sudden? Besides you are such a talented artist." Dave encouraged his friend.

"Then why don't they see it? I have sent my tracks to different producers and yet for a long time none has responded." Martins said with a voice full of hopelessness.

Dave looked at him straight in the eyes and said "Rome wasn't built in a day."

Martins got back home that evening and thought about Dave's words. With that he didn't give up, he continued sending his tracks to different producers until one day, A life changing opportunity came to his doorstep.

A big producer in the City known as Tobby Walters emailed him, Requesting him to meet him at his office on a particular date.

Martins walked into the Tobby's office, there were fancy cushions chairs circled in a corner and in the middle was a glace round table decorated with a beautiful flower vest. Tobby sat on an executive chair in-front of a marble desk sipping a coffee as he offered Martins a seat at his front.

"I've listened to your tracks and I must confess you are really one talented artist. You will go far in this music industry if you keep this up. I want to work with you as it stands now, we could build something big together." Tobby said as he observed Martins reaction, waiting for his response.

Martins was in awe "that would be great sir." Over the next few weeks Martins and Tobby began working together.

After 2 weeks, Martins made his first official release titled-The song in my chest. It was released on all streaming platforms and within a month it had one million plays.

"Oh my God, I can't believe this..it seems like a dream to me!" Martins exclaimed in excitement.

"I told you, You are not just any ordinary artist, you have a special talent and now you have showcased it for the world to see." Tobby said to him, proud of what Martins had become.

Collaboration deals flooded in, Martins now performed at concerts and soon his name was all-over the world. Fans were dying to see him and he now moved with security escorts, He became a big shot in less than 6 months.

A convoy pulled up in-front of Dave's apartment and amongst it was a Black BMW. Dave came out to see who it was as one of the escorts opened the back door of one of the cars and Martins stepped out.

"We did it bro!" Martins said with a wide grin on his face as he spread his arms to embrace Dave.

"I always knew you would make it big." Dave said happily.

"Thank you bro for believing in me, I brought this little baby as a token of my appreciation." Martins handed him over a car key pointing to a black BMW.

Dave's joy knew no bound that day.
