@theinkwell , I have a suggestion.
Most is us are not literature students and have only passion for writing. To be sincere, I'm a mathematician and initially does not love reading stories not until I joined platforms just like Hive. So, talking about the literature terms, I do t have idea.
So, my suggestion is this:
- the skill challenge should come with examples pointing out where the skill shows up.
I know that it would be an extra work but at least most of us are still learning. Sometimes I had to read the meaning of the skill challenged in Google before making my write up. Even after reading through, I still find it difficult to understand.
I believe that if few examples are sited, we would be able to write according to the skill challenge given.
I'm here to learn and so do others.

Because like you, I'm passionate about writing, but I don't have a literature degree. You can check out Reedsy, Jerry Jenkins, Brandon Sanderson, Jenna Moreci, Alexa Donne. For sure you'll learn a lot from their videos.
Admin Jayna also has tips about writing which inkwell attach together with their prompts post. You can also check it out.
