Ahh! What do we do now? At least you did a scan to know the expected date of delivery, and according to the scan report, it indicates the 15 of the next month's expected date of delivery. You attended antenatal today at the health care facility and no one informs you that you should wait because it is time for childbirth.

"Hey, ah, my back is hurting! Sunday don't fold your arm, hold my back." Stella said. "It's like I want to defecate."

Sunday yelled. "Oh my God! Hold it! Hold it!! Hold it till we get to the hospital. In the middle of the night? Let me go and get the car key and your luggage so that we can start going to the hospital."

When they got to where the car was parked, Sunday started the engine but it did not respond.

Sunday said, "is it time for this battery to fork up?" Ah, God have mercy! "Let me liaise with our neighbours to lend me a battery so that we can get to the hospital on time."

Fortunately for them, they got the battery and Sunday fixed it. When they were going on the road, security stopped them at the checkpoint and asked where they were heading but the way Stella was doing had signalled to them that they were going to the hospital and asked them to get going on time.

While on the road, the car engine stopped and Sunday tried his best to fix it but all his efforts failed. Wow! Stella was not comfortable with the condition she was in. Everywhere was silent. No one was coming or going.

Stella was furious. "Please do something, I want to defecate! Please hold me! Hold me!!"

"Okay, I am doing something about it." "Please dear take it easy, we will get there soon. After all, I am doing everything I can to restore the engine but no luck." Sunday lamented.

Suddenly, she screamed to the extent her husband (Sunday) left what he was doing to attend to her.

She said, now, it is coming… I mean it!

"What is coming, my love?" Sunday query.

Stella said It is the baby that is coming oh…

"Oh my God! My God!! Have mercy on me and my lovely wife. I don't know how to take delivery. I would have done it! We are in the middle of the night and we are already on the road. What do we do, God?" Said Sunday?

One vehicle was coming towards their direction and Sunday used his both hands to stop the car. Initially, the driver of the car did want to stop the car engine but he noticed that someone was in pain, so he reversed the car to pick them up. That time, the baby's head was coming out.

The man said don't worry. I am a medical doctor, I was on call for an emergency case. Calm down. My name is Dr Dickson and I am working with Honesty Hospital along this road. It is time for madam to deliver the baby. Let me handle her here because the baby's head is out already. Thereafter, I will take her to the clinic for observation before discharging her to go home.

Thank you, Sir. Sunday appreciates the man.

In mere minutes, the man took the delivery right there, cleaned up the mother and took her and the newborn baby to the hospital for observation. He watched her for two days before she was discharged from the hospital.

Before Sunday and Stella left the hospital, they asked for a bill to enable them to pay for the service. But the doctor said no, God implored me not to collect a dime from you. Just go home and use the money to take care of the baby.

"Ah, God! Is this how you quickly answer the prayer of the needy?" Said Sunday. "Thank you, God. Doctor, we appreciate your gesture toward our family." "God will not put you to shame and he will answer your prayers speedily. I am relieved!"

Hello @benstel,
I enjoyed this story very much. You capture the panic husband and wife felt as the delivery of the baby approached and no help was in sight. The obstacles you place in their way as they go to the hospital work well.

It's nice to see a story from someone who has not written for the community before. Welcome!

Thank you @agmoore. I am delighted to hear from you that you enjoyed reading my piece. I appreciate it!

@benstel Dr Dixon made Stella's delivery safely on the road, he was an incarnation of God. You have chosen a very different subject. But I have also seen these incidents happen with my own eyes.

Yup @fantom22, you are right but this couple was in the dilemma stage and it was God's intervention that helped them out.Thank you for your comments on my post.
