I'm just an old soul

Sometimes I feel good and other times I don't. Sometimes it feels like mundane things are larger than life while other things mountain sized problems don't even scratch the surface.

I'm still learning life, so I'll keep learning life. No one ever stops learning, so I'll keep learning. At dawn, I hear the rooster crow and that's when I know that class is in session.

"Put one foot in front of the other", that's my mantra. I don't know how much these legs can take but I hope they take me far.

I'm taking the walk of life and I'm taking it with as little baggage. I'm taking it with baggage that I can manage. I'm taking with baggage that won't overly distort my carriage.

I'm moving straight and I'm moving forward. I see suicide slopes but I'm no coward. Full steam ahead like a train and it might be loud.

I keep moving and see new places. I see new faces in new places. I meet new people of different races. I've learnt that we're all fundamentally humans, flawed with imperfection and striving for "more".

I'm an old soul in this young body. I'm trying to be happy without hurting anybody. I know it is impossible so the fewer the better. So I'll keep going until I get to the point where I can love forever.
