I can relate to your experience, @iskawrites. I once fell out with my dad over which university course to read. He wanted law as he is a lawyer himself, but I wanted a course related to creative writing. Anyway I was later allowed to go my own part and read English and Lit. Surprisingly it was my previously unsupportive dad that sponsored me through. Gratefully my immediate younger brother is now reading law. I'm sure you endured a difficult time while trying to choose the right course against your dad's wishes. I just hope he made a turnaround later to help with your sponsorship.
