The Supply Shock: As Expected

The Supply Shock

Well this is nothing new, we expected this, the eventual supply shock due to the Land Cards have hit Praetoria. It was quick and readily visible in the wood supply curve below. It is easy to demonstrate with wood and so I am using it as an example.

Above is the Total Supply Plot for wood in Praetoria. Notice, just before the introduction of the Land cards we have hit the max supply (till date) of wood in Praetoria at 867M total wood stash. Then came the demand shock, for the rare land card Kinbound Druid, which was crafted using Cinder + Wood. Therefore the net supply dropped to 454M, which I have covered here. That is a 47% drop in the total supply! It was the max drop for any resources in Praetoria. So the price responded too by going 2X Factor!

At the high 1000 wood sold for 150 DEC on Dec 09, 2025! Just 20 days later, it is now trading at 1000 wood for 66 DEC! Why? Because look at the slope of the supply curve for wood.

The yellow arrows represented the rate of production of wood previously. You can see there was some minor departure from the constant slope, but before the introduction to the land cards, they were mostly constant (given the active plots remained more or less constant).

Now look at the different between the slope of Orange arrow (current production rate) vs. the previous production rate, it is about 2X change of rate. We are currently producing nearly 13M wood surplus every day in Praetoria. At this rate we hit and blast through the max supply on Jan 20, 2026!

What follows: We need another major demand shock in January, otherwise prices will remain soft. Let us hope for a January Miracle!

Love seeing those supply charts 😍

I also really like the idea of a Glint building as an additional source of resource demand. What we really need is steady, sustainable demand, not the sharp spikes we’re seeing now. Those spikes feel good short term, but long term they can actually make things worse because they trigger increased production, exactly what we’re seeing play out.

We discussed this in the Team Possible chat, and Aftersound also touched on it in a recent video, it’s resonating with more people. I know it would be another detour for Land 2.0, but honestly, it’s an idea I find very appealing. Of course, the math would need to be worked out carefully, but as a player, it definitely hits a nerve in a good way.

Curious to hear your opinion on this.

Yes, both Vugtis and I talked about this for months. We both like a sustainable demand as opposed to spikes

Going to need some quick work to get something launched to keep supply under control, is this similar for all resources or has wood oversupply increased more than most due to the land cards?

Assume the land cards gold foils being mined will be accentuating the problem

It is similar for other resources but the impact on wood is highly amplified

I'd guess that the next shock will come with Survival-Rebirth-Potions. I already took my big earners off my wood plots and back on Grain. Still selling all my wood right away, but might consider starting to hoard some, soon - just in case. Maybe when the price goes under 60 DEC.

60DEC should be one more day.

before the surge, it was 57 DEC. So maybe that might be a good mark. It will probably drop below that, as there are be a few land owners who fired up their wood plots - from 21M/Day before to 24M/day now, so around 15% more production, and not much to absorb it.

The whole trajectory of land in 2025 leaves me quite bullish, though. So I might build out my resource stash a little, just in case 2026 is similar or maybe better.

I was trying to figure out some better allocations for my land cards today after I opened those Rift Watchers packs but I can't find a good tool to use that makes things easier for me. I know you mentioned some a while ago. Would those help me?

Combine the cards, and then you can put them on your plots using Peakmonsters

Ah, okay. I didn't know you could do that right in PeakMonsters. Does it make it pretty clear the optimal cards you should pick? Also does it make it clear if you are at a deficit or overage with DEC? I was having trouble figuring that out in the native interface. I was also having trouble figuring out if it will not let you use cards that are already locked on another piece of land. My fear was I was robbing one piece of land to improve another.

You can plan using the other tool that I linked.

PKM will choose the highest PP card that you have.

Okay, I will check I out!

I'm glad to here the news the Praetoria has a wood. Many others in the world are lacking in this area.
