Special people. Week 213.

in Weekend Experiences8 months ago

Nice day Hivers from the Weekend Experiences Community. Participating in the #weekend-engagement promoted by @galenkp, every week, is a pleasure.

At birth we are born devoid of knowledge. Our family lovingly guides us through our learning process. They transmit to us their beliefs, their customs and their perception of life. The society that welcomes us nurtures us with its culture, ideology and norms. All this is mixed with the personality that we create as we grow and understand our environment. This is how our roots and the sense of pride we all feel for our country of origin arise. So when the question arises: What is the best thing about living in your country? We will always have different positive arguments about it, because we grow up programming our minds to live in that environment, together with the people we love so much. There will always be too many reasons to find beauty in the country where we were born. An example of this are people who change their residence to distant cities, where the language, customs and climate differ from their hometown. Although they adapt to their new environment and find happiness in their new home, they will always feel nostalgic for their country of origin and proudly state their nationality.

In my case, I live in Cuba and I proudly say: I am Cuban. My society is not perfect and I always analyze it with critical eyes. I am convinced that many aspects of it must change. But beyond its social structure and its politics are its natural beauties, its beautiful landscapes and the beaches that I love so much. My family, my friends, my customs and my traditions are here.

Although the country is known for the quality of its rum and tobaccos, what most distinguishes Cuba are its people. Cubans, by nature, are very sociable, supportive, friendly and talkative. He is a cheerful, enterprising joker. He is a dancer par excellence and always has arguments to give, no matter what topic is being discussed. Cubans give what little they have and are always willing to help.

In Cuba we all know each other even if we have never met. When two Cubans meet in five minutes they are already friends and in ten minutes they defend each other like brothers. If a child goes astray among strangers, all adults automatically set out to reunite the child with his or her parents. Everyone in the neighborhood knows each other and helps each other. Your closest neighbors become family. If you need salt, sugar or medicine, you can fearlessly knock on the door of your neighbor, who always shares what little he has without stinting. You can visit your friends without prior notice. When you arrive at their house they will always welcome you like a king, no matter how busy they are at that moment. If you get sick or need help, you will always find it, because there are plenty of helping hands.

So, if you ask me: What is the best thing about living in Cuba? I will always answer: the Cubans.

Cuba sounds like a wonderful place with wonderful people. I would love to visit one day, but I am afraid my traveling days are behind me.

Cubans are very friendly people. Greetings ☺️
