Happy Weekend, Back to Nature.

This Sunday the weather is so sunny, the sky looks a little cloud that blows in the wind. Previously I had no plans to go anywhere today, but seeing the sunny and friendly weather, I decided to go on an excursion just to enjoy the beautiful natural scenery. In the area where I live, namely the province of North Sumatra, there is one tourist area located in the highlands, namely Berastagi. Berastagi City is a region with a cold climate and is a fruit and flower producing area. That's why every weekend, Berastagi city is very crowded. Tourists from various other regions visit, even many foreign tourists visit Berastagi. One of the famous natural scenery is Mount Sinabung which is erupting, this view will be clearly visible when the weather is sunny, it seems today I was lucky to be able to see the extraordinary natural scenery of Mount Sinabung which was erupting and emitting a little puff of smoke.

The journey from my city (Binjai) to the city of Berastagi can be taken for 2.5 hours if there is no traffic jam. Because today is Sunday, we decided to take an alternative route through the Telaga forest that connects Binjai City to Berastagi City. Through this alternative route I can also enjoy the extraordinary natural beauty, of course I will take the time to stop in the forest to just breathe clean air.We departed at 09.00 WIB (Western Indonesian Time), because we took an alternative route through the forest, we didn't have to worry about getting stuck in traffic jams on weekends. We arrived at the lake forest area at 10.30 WIB and we stopped for about 15 minutes in the forest. We didn't dare to stop long in the forest, because a few weeks ago, the locals saw 2 tigers around the lake forest, we had to be careful so that nothing bad happened beyond our control.

I stopped at the edge of the forest and saw some wild berries. Few people know that this is an edible wild berry. I know this berry is edible because I saw some caterpillars eating this fruit, meaning the fruit is not poisonous.

After enjoying the natural scenery in the lake forest, we continued our journey to the city of Berastagi. We were not in a hurry, so we stopped several times on the way to enjoy the natural beauty that we will not find in our city. Coming out of the lake forest, we started to enter the residential area, we stopped for a moment to take pictures with the background of Mount Sinabung.

We stopped at Naman Teran village, from here the view towards Mount Sinabung is quite clear.

It looks like we will arrive in Berastagi in 1 hour. Along the way there are many community gardens with various plants. The children asked to stop at a coffee plantation, because it was on the side of the road, we stopped, the children wanted to see the coffee plants.

Around the coffee plant there are also broccoli plants, it looks like the broccoli plants have not yet fruited.

There are also potato plants that are starting to flower. the expanse of green color makes the eyes fresher.

We also saw a cabbage plant that seems to be starting to be harvested, a very large cabbage.

Finally, we saw tomato plants exposed to volcanic ash from Mount Sinabung. Farmers who own gardens said that yesterday afternoon Mount Sinabung erupted and the ashes led to their fields in Naman Teran village.

The children were very happy to see the various plants along the way, because in our city there is no natural scenery in the form of a stretch of vegetables typical of the highlands like this. It's time to continue the journey back to the city of Berastagi. We are very happy with this Sunday's trip, the sunny weather with amazing natural scenery is a very effective remedy to overcome boredom due to daily activities.

After the children were satisfied (to be honest there is no satisfaction in being in the wild with amazing views like this), but life goes on, so we continued our journey and stopped at a cafe with extraordinary natural views. We ordered the typical village fried rice of the cafe. It was delicious, maybe because we were starving, so taste wasn't the main thing😂😂😂

Because along the way we stopped at many places, we just arrived in Berastagi city at 13.40 WIB. But most importantly we can spend the weekend enjoying the beauty of nature on our way to Berastagi city.
