Good morning dear Hive friends, this weekend promised to be different, we had plans to go to the beach with my dad, but due to maintenance problems we spent a large part of the night without power and on this beautiful island the heat is intense, so could hardly sleep. At sunrise we called my dad and told him that we had a change of plans because we hadn't been able to rest and that we preferred to sleep in the morning.
We were excited to go to the beach because since Easter, which was our first outing with the family, we have decided to meet more often because, with the necessary confinement due to covid, we lost a lot of time and the warmth of family is necessary, more in our case that we are in another country, so we have to take advantage of the few moments we have to share.
I was about to prepare our lunch when my dad arrived with a ready-made chicken and told me "you just have to make rice, I brought this to share and you can rest", in a second he put a little rice, toasted bread and my dad, who is an expert in the kitchen, prepared a seasoning for the chicken to intensify its flavor, cut it into pieces as only he knows how, and in less than half an hour we were having lunch.
As soon as we finished lunch, his wife washed the dishes and began to make a good coffee, she is excellent at preparing it and since we Cubans like it strong and without much sugar, she does it at the exact point, it reminds me a lot of what my Mom, for a few seconds she transported me and placed me in my beautiful Cuba, among my memories. We enjoy a good coffee with bread, many anecdotes and our usual chats every time we meet.
Later we went to the patio and picked cherries to be taken away, my dad's wife likes to make this candy. Here at home we have a plant of miraculous cherries hahaha, that's what my son calls it because it has it all year long, we think it's because of the weather and the love with which we water it, whenever I can I make juice or sweet, but it bears a lot of fruit and on occasion I give to friends and neighbors.
As you can see, I thought that my weekend would be quiet and boring at home, but my dad didn't let exhaustion and tiredness prevent us from getting together, we just changed the options from the beach to the house.
Friends, it was a great time, always spending time with the family, it is excellent, next weekend we will go to the beach if there are no problems, since it is Mother's Day and we must surely celebrate it.
