An ideal weekend for me definitely shared with my love and no one else, probably in the future i would say with my family, but that time is yet to come. Weekend is about to rest and recreate, which are both can be done with some kind of activity thats actually far from resting. Hiking for me is a preferred one to recreate, to be in the nature far from the city and recharge. To be in the nature is a gift and should be enjoyed whenever it’s possible.
Therefor i would say my ideal weekend start with an easy Friday, and the afternoon is about to get prepared for the upcoming two days, do some shopping and the required packing. Well its not a big journey but still you have to take care about a few things, mostly clothes and food. The Saturday morning comes with a hearty breakfast (for me its mostly with egg) that grants the fuel until the afternoon. Still the backpack should contain some sandwiches and fruit within the company of a thermos filled with hot tea.
(kind of an omelette filled with microgreens, garnished with mushroom and cheese)
After we get into the car and leave our home behind us, the journey begins, but shouldn’t be longer than 1-1,5 hour driving. Then the hiking comes and goes. Until we get back to the car our body is fatigued but inside we feel recharged by the nature. No we are not going home, we go to an accommodation nearby, and get a dinner. Then the “rest” can come :) There is still one day left, but hiking was enough for the first day, there can come some sightseeing and a dinner. At the countryside you can always find some good deals, eg. fresh vegetable and fruits, or preserved ones, wine, jam, honey, cheese, sausages, ham etc… under the shelf price and above the quality. It would be a shame to miss.
There is nothing left just to find the way home, and get ready for the upcoming week.
This is my scenario for an ideal weekend. I’ve been there, and ‘ll be again. It’s not a summertime activity its for the 4 seasons. The nature has different faces, and at winter its seems a bit more grim, but its always a pleasure.
Thank you for reading, i hope you enjoyed my thoughts.
Regards,
Ben
If i would live in the countryside (and hopefully 'll within a few years) probably i would visit the city during the weekends, and thats only because of the heavy traffic during the weekdays. But not on my ideal weekends! :)
