[ESP-ING] Paseo de domingo y aguacero - Sunday walk and downpour

Hola amig@s de Hive... mi aventura del fin de semana incluye afro-latinidad y mucha agua y frío bogotano.

Mi amiga Karla me escribió para hacer algo porque su papá que es un señor mayor y vino de visita desde Venezuela estaba un poco aburrido de estar en casa mientras ella trabajaba, y yo había planeado ir al parque Los Novios a hacer un picnic con mi suegra y mi esposo.
Siempre tratamos de darnos un ratico en la naturaleza en el fin de semana.

Hello friends of Hive.... my weekend adventure includes afro-latinidad and lots of water and cold bogotano.

My friend Karla wrote me to do something because her dad who is an older man visiting from Venezuela was a bit bored of being at home while she was working, and I had planned to go to Los Novios park for a picnic with my mother-in-law and my husband.
We always try to give ourselves a little time in nature on the weekend.

Así que nos encontramos y salimos a caminar para hacer picnic y pasear un rato (sin gastar mucho dinero), porque hay que planear paseos ahorrativos.

Nos encontramos con una plaza donde estaba una feria de productos afro.
Pregunté a que se debía y me explicaron que acá en Bogotá hay poco espacio para que las personas negras de Colombia hagan exposición de sus productos, así que cada cierto tiempo hacen ferias para vender sus cosas.

So we met up and went for a walk to have a picnic and walk around for a while (without spending a lot of money), because you have to plan thrifty walks.

We came across a square where there was a fair of afro products.
I asked why and they explained to me that here in Bogota there is little space for black people in Colombia to exhibit their products, so every so often they have fairs to sell their stuff.

Había comida del pacifico, con mariscos y pescados... muchos accesorios o complementos realizados por ellos, con unos tejidos fascinantes y productos para el cuidado del cabello y piel a base de coco, especial para cabellos muy rizados.

Fue muy lindo ver tus artesanías y además su vestimenta muy colorida que alegró la mañana.

There was food from the Pacific, with seafood and fish... many accessories or complements made by them, with fascinating fabrics and products for hair and skin care based on coconut, especially for very curly hair.

It was very nice to see your handicrafts and also their colorful clothes that brightened up the morning.

Luego fuimos caminando al Parque Los Novios, estaba lleno de niños jugando, y al entrar nos saluda con un lago hermosos.

Nos pusimos cómodos en la grama y los viejitos sentados en su banco, estuvimos un rato hablando, hasta que nos cayó el palo de agua como dicen en Venezuela, un aguacero fuerte y frío.

En ese parque no hay donde resguardarse porque los cabañas son alquiladas para cumpleaños, así que mi esposo y yo nos metimos debajo de un árbol y Karla y los viejitos se fueron hacía otro lado gracias a Dios con sombrillas.

Then we walked to Parque Los Novios, it was full of children playing, and when we entered we were greeted by a beautiful lake.

We made ourselves comfortable on the grass and the old men sitting on their bench, we were talking for a while, until the water fell on us, as they say in Venezuela, a strong and cold downpour.

In that park there is nowhere to take shelter because the cabins are rented for birthdays, so my husband and I got under a tree and Karla and the old people went somewhere else, thank God, with umbrellas.

Al rato ya no aguantamos más la lluvia y corrimos hacía unas sombrillas de unos negocios pequeños que vendían café, ahí nos dejaron amablemente estar y empezó a bajar la lluvia y preparamos nuestros panes con jamón y queso como teníamos planeado.

Cuándo creímos que se había ido la lluvia comenzó a llover de nuevo y tomamos la decisión de irnos apenas escampara, porque de verdad teníamos mucho frío y teníamos los zapatos y ropa mojada.

Solo veíamos los patos pasar por el frente disfrutando de la lluvia y nosotros congelados... fue un paseo acuático pero bueno, pudimos pasear y ver otras cosas pero si regresamos con mucho frío.

After a while we could not stand the rain any longer and we ran towards some umbrellas of a small business that sold coffee, there they kindly let us stay and the rain started to come down and we prepared our bread with ham and cheese as we had planned.

When we thought the rain was gone it started to rain again and we made the decision to leave as soon as the rain stopped, because we were really cold and our shoes and clothes were wet.

We could only see the ducks passing in front of us enjoying the rain and we were freezing... it was a water ride but well, we were able to walk and see other things but we did come back very cold.

Es bueno tomarse un tiempo para caminar y sobretodo cuando tenemos personas mayores con nosotros.

Espero mi acua-aventura les guste y se diviertan viéndonos congelados bajo la lluvia helada de Bogotá.

It is good to take some time to walk and especially when we have elderly people with us.
