Coastal Clean Up: Serve to Lead Students!

As a student, sometimes your task is not only to learn the academics but also to lead for the youth and enhance the basic education of helping the environment and planet. The greatest gift you could give back to the planet is to make it feel you love and take care of it, so here is our activity on our school for the coastal cleanup.

The coastal cleanup starts at 5 am in the morning, it’s kind of hard to find a vehicle on that time so most of the students arrived at 5:40 or so. We started it 6 and ended in 7 but we did the best we can and cleaned the whole place with a helping hand, we picked up the plastics that we saw and anything that are harmful for both humans and the animals. It’s really not that easy to clean up since we cleaned the mangrove parts mostly, it’s stinky, too much trash and very wet to be exact because it’s really a coastal area. Many students participated on the activity, the helping hand and the cooperation of every course can see through the naked eye and that is the part where I love the most. Sometimes these kind of activities does not only help the environment but also the team work of every students despite their differences, the beautiful work and art of the activity can really make a difference and makes you have a faith in humanity and for the love of the planet Earth.

After the coastal cleanup, we have a small bond with my classmates and walked until we get something to eat. It’s a bit tiring and kind of exhausting but it’s quite good since we haven’t seen each other since the last class, we have some fun walking and catching up about our Christmas break. After we talked a lot on the way, we stopped and ate on a fast food chain (Jollibee) and we continued our talk there while we ate.

The activity and the whole day go exactly well and as planned, it’s a great experience to help the environment be more alive again and saw many students participate on that day. Since the activity comes with a partner or three people with one sack, I teamed up with my friends Apple and Abe .It’s quite overwhelming to see such many students helping each other to take care of this beautiful earth that we live in.
