WE81: Becoming a False Artist to Help my Toddler Learn How to Solve Simple Mathematics Problem

Greetings everyone,
It's another weekend full of activities and yesterday was Christmas day. Should I shock you, since last week I joined the #weekend-engagement and the exciting topic I've always thought that everyday was weekend expecting the topics. This weekend is WE81 with topic: Design and Create. Immediately I saw the topic remembered that one way to attract my son to seat down and study mathematics is through artistic work. In this weeks edition I'll go for 🔹Option one 🔹
Create an artwork using pencils, paints, digital, charcoal, pen and ink or any other media of your choice, take a photo and post about it - Tell us why you created it, what inspired you or what story does your artwork tell. You can also use one of your existing pieces. With emphasis on painting, even though I don't know how paint effectively. Just follow me gradually to see what have for you. How it Started
Before we go into the painting proper I'll like to appreciate @galenkp for the good work he's doing to sustain this community. Back to our discussion, I discovered at age 2 that my son dislikes mathematics with full passion but likes reading in totality. Mathematics in Nigeria is an essential subject in studying in any field of study, so I deliberately concentrated in teaching him mathematics. Since his a lover of anything that doesn't look like mathematics, I decided to use other means such as singing and painting to teach him mathematics.

Becoming a False Artist
I never knew that painting could be this frustrating. When I started using the colors on the cardboard, it was as if I should stop the process. Although I had an educational game picture in front of me that I was using to paint, but the more I tried it seems it was another thing I was painting. I just encouraged myself to continue until I got this.

What's the Educational Game all about
It's all about teaching subtraction of numbers to my son. Like I earlier said he loves artistic or visual approach in solving mathematics. He's to pick the answer to the subtraction problem and climb the mountain in front of him to fix the answer. And can guess what happened next, he picked the number 8 to fix below the problem.

The Creative Process and Design
We started with a drawing on the cardboard paper using our pencil.

I'll conclude by saying that being delibrate in doing things brings positive results and discovering a problem on time will help in the future. My son has made me to venture into painting and design. My goal is to see a world best mathematician in the nearest future.
