True to life

“Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dream.” - Paulo Coelho

A goal without a plan is simply a dream, and a life without dreams, isn't a life worth living...

We have a myriad of motivators in life. For many it's an idol, some have a point to prove, and a few simply want to change the world, what they all have in common, is the ability to dream. Whether it's a dream when awake, or while you're asleep, we all have dreams. In the dream world, there are no boundaries, no rules; no matter how crazy an idea or action may seem, it's all possible in our mind.

I have always been a realistic dreamer; a pragmatist in life. I've never dreamt of being a race car driver, an astronaut, or a superhero. Whether it be my dreams as I sleep, or when I'm awake, it was all fairly realistic; however, I do see some weird shit when I'm asleep sometimes, that I can't deny.

Why have I always been so realistic? I don't know. Maybe it's where I grew up, and the people that were around me when growing up; the working men and women, who only dreamt of having a stable job and being in one company for the rest of their lives and hoping to climb the ranks. I've never been told to aim for the moon.

There's also the fact that I've been told that I would be a nobody if I kept following the path I was on. From guardians to teachers, to relatives, many doubted me and my methods. And I guess there's some truth in there, sometimes I do feel like nobody. As if I should've achieved more by now. Fortunately, it doesn't drive me crazy. I believe I'm on my path, and right on time.

Or, it could be that my luck was always shit. Now, whether you agree or not, immense levels of success do always come with a bit of luck. Whether that luck comes from where you're born, the people you know, or simply being at the right place at the right time. I've never had any of that. The very little I've achieved in my life came from the skills and hobbies that I've learned because it was something I'd love to do, and from that love came effort, and from that effort, I got to know many people. From there came a solid network of people who have enhanced my life experience and have helped me climb the stairs of life.

At the end of the day, I'm just trying to be useful. I do preach purpose 24/7, but as I heard recently from a little clip "purpose is being useful".

Looking at the image above speaks volumes to me. Now, I say even this picture here is a matter of life and luck. Being at the right place at the right time, having a nice camera phone, and timing. Or is it all fate?

Now, how does the image speak volumes? This is just a thought in my mind, but give me some rope here. For example, the woman walking by would be better off if she could afford a rickshaw ride home, she'd be in better health and would be able to focus on her work with full energy after reaching her destination. Then we have the rickshaw pullers and passers-by, who surely do admire the Mercedes S Class, wishing they could at least get to drive a car one day; whether it's a Merc or a Toyota. Hoping that one day they won't have to get soaked in the rain. And the S-Class owner will probably look to either one day own a Ferrari or a jet.

The thing is, all these dreams are fairly "realistic" to these people, and that's all they've known to aim for. Because people in this region aren't told to dream big, aren't told to explore and identify their purpose. They aren't told to aim for the sky so that they at least can land on a skyscraper.

That is why I guess I've never dared to dream too big. I will say, that there are more moments when I daydream and I go big, no limits, but those moments begin and end in the dream world. Because most of it I have no true interest in, it's all a fugazi.

My real method of progressing in life and making a difference has always been working with honest, smart, and hardworking people. To learn from these people, and possibly build something that one day may be deemed valuable. It's the people around us that make life worth living. Just as we have loved ones back at home, we should have people that we trust, respect, and care about in our work life too. Whether it be in an office space, with a business partner, or even a digital creator with whom you have to work side by side, from one monitor to the other. Because if I can't trust and respect that person or work space, then my work won't be as meaningful, nor will look forward to heading back to work the next day.

And...

Life's too short. So, you should be doing the things you're meant to do; with the people you feel like doing it with.

Now, whether you reach the moon or a just rooftop, will be decided by your synergy, work ethic, and a tad bit of luck.

Damn, that is some rain!

LOL, its monsoon! Rain here is warm, and you don't feel than damp freezing cold if you get wet.

You have to visit sometime, back to your paternal roots!

Correct! It's not as cold here. It's more sticky; that's how some of us describe it at least.

Thanks to all the randomness, some days it's fairly cool and windy, some days it's hot and sticky, but the rain is consistent.

Yeah, bro, it was a beautiful sight. I love this shot! It was taken back in 2022 though.
