RE: Weekend-engagement week 67: The important week

in Weekend Experiences3 years ago

Did you put @galenkp's weekend engagement post on your calendar?

I've pretty much ditched the thing. I have this crazy idea that my brain needs the challenge to stay young. Fortunately, I have so little to do that post-it notes strewn about the house keep me in line.

I don't wear sunscreen! I get out for short bits in the spring to tan my Mediterranean epidermis, and rarely burn. Lucky me!

I want a pressure canner.

Hahahaha this is the one thing I have not put into my calendar. I am forcing myself to not become too heavily reliant on calendars and remember the small things. I will save my calendar for bigger things

I can imagine post-it notes all over your house 🤣🤣. My room used to have it near my bedside table.

Glad you don't burn and speaking of Mediterranean, it is my favorite cuisine hands down.

I want a pressure canner.

OOoo somebody is planning on making some canned goodies 😏😏. What would you like to can?

This was my first year to can anything, and I did a bunch of tomatoes. Apparently, to can anything else safely, I need a pressure canner. Next year!

I have post-it notes everywhere. There is some method to where I leave them though. If they are in my purse, they are appointments. If they are on my kitchen table, they are immediate tasks. If they are on my desk, I almost never get to them. lol

Hey you are making good progress! I haven't tried canning but I want to try canning kimchi (fermented vegetables).

I like your method. There is structure to it!

Happy canning

I keep buying cabbage to make kimchii and never getting around to it. It's really very easy!!! Do it! And let me know how it turns out. I've fermented many other things, and only one batch didn't taste good, so you pretty much can't go wrong.

All different colors and sizes!!! Some of them are in play for so long they get tattered edges, and smudged ink. But I can't throw one away until the task written on it is done. Or written on a new post it note. That's my system. It works actually. I rarely miss a deadline.

Given up on post-it notes, got too many... forgot to read them!

lol. I at least have to leaf through them, since I leave them strewn about my kitchen table and desk, and stuffed into my purse. One of the ones in my purse has the task "clean purse" on it. I leave myself little jokes to brighten my days.
