In Venezuela, there are some sandwiches that we call pepitos, which generally can be meat, chicken or mixed. Generally, these are consumed in street stalls being part of what is called fast food.
To prepare them we chop the meat in small pieces and season it with oregano, black pepper and marinade. In a grill, griddle or frying pan well heated and previously greased with oil or butter, place the meat or chicken until it browns. When they are ready, take them out and let them rest.
In the company where I work we always try to make one meal a month, we have made barbecues, paella, seafood salpicones, lasagna and other types of food. This time we prepared pepitos, using two grills. We did it on the office terrace.
Due to the parallel use of these two electrical appliances, the power suddenly went out, and one of the grills burned out. We immediately went to the fuse box to raise the respective breaker with the surprise that a fuse had blown. Worst of all, both the meat and the chicken were still half cooked and everyone was extremely hungry.
It was a Saturday afternoon and the hardware stores were already closing, so it took us more than an hour to reestablish the electricity service after the purchase of the fuse. After this fact and with only one grill available we finished cooking the meat and chicken to prepare the pepitos.
We laughed and proceeded to take a picture with the respective bottle of wine that was given to us by our boss.
.
The idea of these meals in the company is to strengthen ties between us, sharing and discussing in a friendly way some outstanding event that has happened to us in our workday, almost always these culinary meetings we do it on a Saturday.
From this experience we learned something: we should not use two appliances of high electrical consumption (grills) finger we run the risk of electrical overload, damage any of the devices and even blow a fuse that could leave us hours without light.

Outside food
I love cooking outdoors with fire. Tell us about your best or worst experience cooking outdoors - where and when was it, what did you cook, what went right or wrong and why? Tell us your suggestions and tips for best results, a recipe or what not to do based on your experiences. Bonus points if you use your own photos.
All photos are my property and were taken with my Iphone 4 cell phone.
These nuggets are really provocative 😋
What a nice work environment, it can't all be work. We spend a lot of time in the office so our colleagues become family.
Aside from enjoying the food, you got to learn about electrical energy. 😅
You are right many times we spend more time at work than at home, so it is best to try to get along as best as possible with co-workers, and learn a lot about emotional intelligence. On the electrical side, well I guess it's not my greatest strength. Thanks for appreciating my post.
This is such a nice activity for work colleagues to bond over. Having a small amount of social interaction once a month can have a huge positive impact on the atmosphere and from the photos it looks like everyone had fun even with the fuse blowing and the food taking a while, you probably all enjoyed it even more when you finally got to eat it.
Thanks for your entry.
Thank you very much for your comment. It is a good practice that we have been doing for 7 years, therapeutic and entertaining. Today we almost had a lunch where we were going to prepare prawns and pasta with shrimps but unfortunately there is no water in the area where the company is located. Imagine how we would have to wash dishes and cutlery after eating seafood!
I fixed the spelling mistake in the first tag, thanks again, what happened to me is that I made the publication here in Venezuela in the wee hours of the morning, sleep overcame me and I did not check the tag well.
I am very happy to participate in these dynamics.
Hi @nbarrios67
Thanks a stack, I think it's great that you've had this tradition going for so long, it builds on the work relationships. Gosh cannot imagine doing the dishes without water like that so it's probably better to opt for easier things then with less cleanup.
I understand, these things happen.
Have a good weekend.
Please correct the spelling error in your first tag.
Corrected, thank you for your kindness.
