When I am home, I spend Sunday in the village with my family. This one was no different, except it happened to be a holiday as well, Easter.

First, we had breakfast at my home, with my grandparents, uncle and cousin, and then we went to the village to spend time with my other grandparents, aunt and uncle.
Since it was a holiday, both meals were huge and with many things to eat. Here is our breakfast.

When we are in the village we always go for a walk in the woods, it was no different this time as well. Also, I played with dogs in the garden and took some photos of plants and flowers around and in the walk. I will share photos of that as well.

For lunch as main thing, we had barbecue. But also there were many other things. Amazing soup that I love, also young (baby, new) potatoes, that are my favorite, many salads, cheese, and dessert were two cakes (one with strawberries). All in all, a lot of good food.

Beside our eggs that we brought, there were also eggs that my aunt brought. She colored only white eggs, with natural ingredients, and got some pretty pastel eggs. And also there were eggs my grandma made, and she was most creative. Even thought she didn't use natural ingredients to color eggs, she found on internet idea to make artsy eggs using colors that she bought in market and also white eggs.

For the end, I would like to tell you about custom on Easter. We boil and color eggs on Friday, and on Sunday we eat them. But you don't just eat them, you compete with someone first. You chose an egg that you want to compete with, and so does your opponent. You agree who will hit first, and you hit with pointed side, while other person just hold their egg. Then the other person hit, but with a blunt side. Winner is the one that break other person's egg. If both eggs brake, you can hit one more time with the two left sides to choose the winner. The winner gets the loser's egg to eat. Since I love boiled eggs I like this custom and I had quite a few eggs on Sunday and in the following days.

Thank you for reading my post ^^
Teddy!!! :)
I love new or baby potatoes too, my favourites.
What a brilliant egg custom, I love boiled eggs well I love eggs in any form.
Great post and happy belated Easter:)
It is fun indeed. Thank you very much! (:
You are so very welcome :)
Wooooow! This is the first time that I heard about the egg battle outside of my house! And also us usually make coulored eggs like your aunt, with natural ingredients. Our best are with onions and tea.
That's cool, nice to hear it's a tradition in other places too :) We use onions but haven't tried with tea, thank you for the idea for next year!
Usually we put together, and the eggs become brown/dark red, it's good for the not white egg!
Indeed, we had yellow/orange eggs and white this year. Orange were so dark I thought they won't get any color, but onions did the magic, and they turned out very good :)
